A newly released animated movie has climbed higher on Netflix’s weekly charts than “KPop Demon Hunters,” even though that show has been one of Netflix’s biggest hits ever. These charts are a good way to see what’s currently popular on the streaming service, as they reflect hundreds of thousands of hours of viewing time each week.
The movies featured in this collection change frequently, but some have consistently performed well over time. For example, KPop Demon Hunters has been on Netflix’s global movie charts for over 30 weeks. Despite this success, a new version of another popular animated film has recently attracted even more viewers than the 2025 release.

Recent data from Netflix reveals how well its shows and movies are performing. Looking at the week of February 9th to 15th, the popular film KPop Demon Hunters remained a hit, appearing in the top 10 for the 35th week and ranking as the fourth most-watched movie on the platform.
During this period, three movies were particularly popular with viewers. The comedy Joe’s College Road Trip led the way, followed by the true-crime documentary The Investigation Of Lucy Letby. Interestingly, the live-action remake of How To Train Your Dragon also performed well, landing in third place.
This analysis is interesting on its own, but it’s especially noteworthy that the live-action How to Train Your Dragon movie performed so well. This reinforces the recent trend of successful live-action remakes. Also, given the huge popularity of KPop Demon Hunters, the strong performance of another animated franchise’s spinoff is even more surprising, proving this type of genre has the potential for major success.
KPop Demon Hunters’ Overall Netflix Record Is Still Building Itself To Staggering Heights
While newer movies often top Netflix’s weekly charts now, KPop Demon Hunters is still performing remarkably well. Considering the animated film was released almost ten months ago, its continued presence among Netflix’s most popular titles is truly impressive.
As a movie buff, I’ve been keeping an eye on what’s trending, and it’s really telling that even months after its release, KPop Demon Hunters is still performing better than almost everything else on Netflix’s weekly top 10 – only a few huge hits like the 2025 re-release of How To Train Your Dragon have managed to beat it. That really speaks volumes about how popular it is!
I can’t believe KPop Demon Hunters is almost at its one-year mark on the Netflix charts! It feels like it’s really made a lasting impression. Over the next 17 weeks, I’m going to be watching closely to see what other movies – especially animated ones – can compete with its popularity. It’s going to be a really interesting few months!
