HoYoverse has officially announced all the details for Genshin Impact 6.5, including the release date and a new character named Linnea. They also shared information about the update’s banners and other features. Currently, players are nearing the end of Version 6.4, which brought them back to Mondstadt for events like the release of the playable character Varka and the main event, “Homeward, He Who Caught the Wind.”
While the main story in Genshin Impact took a breath after the exciting conclusion of the Nod-Krai arc in Version 6.3, it’s far from over. Players are drawing closer to the final country, Snezhnaya, and the fate of Teyvat hangs in the balance as the powerful Heavenly Principles begin to stir. Though reaching this point will take time, the game will continue to evolve with the release of Version 6.5 and beyond.
The RPG’s Next Update Arrives On Schedule
So, the big 6.5 update for Genshin Impact was finally revealed during the livestream! They announced the release date right after the event, and it’s official now: we’re getting it on April 8th! It’s good to have a confirmed date after all the speculation, and it’ll be available on all platforms – PC, mobile, and PlayStation.
Since the update already has a confirmed release date and the accompanying livestream has already happened, it’s very unlikely the release will be delayed. Players can look forward to enjoying the new content starting April 8th.

Genshin Impact 6.5 – New Character & Banners
Linnea Makes Her Debut As A Lunar-Crystallize Specialist
A major announcement from the livestream was the introduction of Linnea, a new 5-star character who fights with a bow and uses Geo energy. While rumors about her circulated beforehand, HoYoverse has now officially detailed her abilities. Linnea is designed to be an expert in triggering Lunar-Crystallize reactions, a combat mechanic first seen with the character Columbina in Genshin Impact.
As a Genshin player, I’m really excited about Linnea! It looks like she’ll be able to boost reactions and deal some extra damage from the sidelines. She seems like she’ll fit perfectly with Zibai, acting as a great secondary damage dealer alongside Columbina – basically helping everyone hit harder. Plus, her Burst can heal the team, and it gets stronger the higher her DEF is, so she could be a solid backup healer too. And get this – she lowers enemies’ Geo resistance, which is awesome news for Geo DPS characters like Navia! She’s looking like a really versatile character.
Linnea can also subtly boost her team’s Elemental Mastery, making Lunar-Crystallize reactions even stronger, in addition to the benefits she already provides from Hydro Crystallize. If you’re using Zibai in Genshin Impact, Linnea could be essential for maximizing his performance with Lunar-Crystallize reactions.
HoYoverse announced the upcoming characters available in Version 6.5. The first set of banners will feature the new character Linnea, along with a return of Chasca. Later in the update, the second set of banners will include Lauma and Nefer, who will be available again for players to try and obtain.
Genshin Impact 6.5 – Story Updates
The Update Takes Players Back To Nod-Krai
Okay, so we’re not getting any new Archon Quests in Version 6.5, which is a little disappointing, but HoYoverse did give us a sneak peek at some new World Quests! They’re going to be all about the new areas in Nod-Krai – the ones that were leaked and are now officially happening! It looks like we’re heading back to Nod-Krai to explore, and honestly, it feels like we’re building up to a really huge finale to this whole story arc over the next few updates. I’m so excited to see how it all plays out!
I’m really excited about the new update! They’re adding a whole Story Quest just for Linnea, so we’ll finally get to know her better. Plus, HoYoverse is promising tons of limited-time events in Version 6.5 – lots of stuff to do and, best of all, even more free Primogems! It sounds like a seriously content-packed update.
Now that it’s confirmed, Version 6.5 of Genshin Impact will bring a lot of new content. While players are excited to learn more about the upcoming Snezhnaya region, they can start preparing by collecting resources and saving Primogems for future character releases.
