12 Upcoming Netflix Shows You Cannot Miss

Netflix had a great first quarter, and even bigger releases are planned for the rest of 2026. Over the past ten years, the platform has become known for creating many of today’s most popular and memorable TV shows and movies, leading many to consider it the leader in the streaming market, surpassing rivals like Hulu, Apple TV+, and HBO Max.

Netflix has a lot of exciting original movies planned for 2026, but it’s always been strongest with its TV shows. From popular, award-winning series to unique shows with dedicated fans, Netflix’s already impressive collection of TV programs will continue to grow with the much-awaited releases coming in the next few months.

XO, Kitty (Season 3)

Coming To Netflix: April 2

Jenny Han’s To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before was a huge hit for Netflix, and its sequel, XO, Kitty, is also proving to be very popular. XO, Kitty follows Kitty Song-Covey (Anna Cathcart) as she navigates the ups and downs of first love and figures out who she is.

As a total teen drama fan, I’ve been completely hooked by XO, Kitty. The characters are just so lovable, and honestly, filming in South Korea adds a whole other level of charm! Now that Kitty’s about to finish her senior year at KISS, everyone’s saying season 3 is going to be the most intense one yet – and I, for one, can’t wait!

Man on Fire

Coming To Netflix: April 30

Ever since it was announced, the new Netflix series Man on Fire has been highly anticipated by action movie fans. The show, which is based on the 1980 novel of the same name, follows John Creasy (played by Yahya Abdul-Mateen II), an ex-special forces operative who dedicates himself to protecting a young girl.

Even if you enjoyed the 2004 movie Man on Fire with Denzel Washington, the new Netflix series, coming in 2026, will still feel fresh. While it keeps the core story of the original, the series will also draw from the plot and character development of A.J. Quinnell’s sequel novel, The Perfect Kill, adding more depth and complexity.

Devil May Cry (Season 2)

Coming To Netflix: May 12

The Devil May Cry series has been turned into a TV show before, but the 2025 anime on Netflix quickly became popular with both dedicated fans and new viewers. Similar to the games, the Netflix version of Devil May Cry follows Dante (voiced by Johnny Yong Bosch), a demon hunter who is, surprisingly, part demon himself.

A professional hitman operates by his own set of rules, but he’s forced to join forces with the authorities trying to catch him when a dangerous villain, known as the White Rabbit, threatens to wipe out all of humanity. The second season of Devil May Cry will build on the shocking events of season one, raising the stakes even higher.

Agent from Above

Coming To Netflix: April 2

The live-action series based on Agent from Above was originally announced in 2019, but production faced delays due to workplace accidents and the COVID-19 pandemic. Fans of Xing Zi’s The Oracle Comes novels eagerly anticipated the show, hoping to see the fantasy and action elements of the books brought to life.

After almost seven years in the making, the new series Agent from Above is officially coming to Netflix! The show promises exciting action and a unique mix of modern fantasy and ancient Taoist beliefs. The story centers on Han Chieh, played by Kai Ko, a talented criminal who finds himself magically bound to a powerful god.

Bloodhounds (Season 2)

Coming To Netflix: April 3

Kim Geon-woo, a promising young boxer, finds his life turned upside down when his mother falls victim to a predatory loan company called Smile Capital. Teaming up with his partner, Hong Woo-jin, Geon-woo uses his skills from Marine training and his knowledge of the streets to get revenge.

Bloodhounds is a thrilling K-drama centered around revenge, and it’s definitely known for its exciting action sequences. With the first season being a hit, season 2 has a lot to live up to. However, the show’s compelling lead pair is expected to deliver, no matter what challenges they face.

Big Mistakes

Coming To Netflix: April 9

It’s been nearly five years since Dan Levy, the celebrated comedian, began a partnership with Netflix, and his new show, Big Mistakes, is expected to be the first of several successful projects they create together. Levy became a household name thanks to his brilliant role as David Rose in the award-winning comedy Schitt’s Creek, but he’s much more than just an actor.

Dan Levy’s new Netflix show could be exactly what fans of Schitt’s Creek have been waiting for. The sitcom stars Levy and Taylor Ortega as a funny, chaotic pair of siblings who unexpectedly find themselves caught up in a major crime. While Good Grief showed off Levy’s skills as a director, Big Mistakes promises to deliver the same hilarious humor that made him famous.

Berlin (Season 2)

Coming To Netflix: May 15

Following the success of the popular series Money Heist, Berlin season 1 is a fantastic prequel that tells the story of Andrés de Fonollosa (Pedro Alonso), the charismatic criminal known as Berlin. The series features a new team of thieves and centers around an ambitious plan to steal €44 million worth of jewels.

While trying to find someone to take the blame, Berlin unexpectedly starts to fall in love with the target’s wife. The series adds a lot more complexity to one of the most fascinating characters from Money Heist, and the second season of Berlin promises to be just as captivating as the first.

Viral Hit

Coming To Netflix: May 28

Many of Netflix’s most popular shows are based on Asian webcomics, and their new live-action series, Viral Hit, is a great example. The original webcomic has already been viewed over 2 billion times, and this Japanese action drama could bring the exciting story to even more people.

I recently watched Viral Hit, and it’s a really interesting film. It centers around Kota Shimura, played by Oji Suzuka, who’s kind of a loner in high school. He cleverly uses his underdog status to become super popular online – basically, he starts posting videos of himself fighting back against the kids who bully him. But the movie explores how that online fame starts to change him, and how he risks becoming just like the people he’s fighting against. It’s a cool concept, and it really makes you think.

Running Point (Season 2)

Coming To Netflix: April 23

Okay, let me tell you, the biggest surprise of 2025 for me was definitely Running Point. It’s a hilarious sports comedy, and honestly, I wasn’t expecting much, but it really delivered. Kate Hudson is fantastic as Isla Gordon, a woman who practically bleeds basketball and suddenly finds herself in charge of the iconic Los Angeles Waves. It’s a fun premise, and Hudson absolutely carries it.

Running Point‘s Gordon Family
Actor Character
Justin Theroux Cameron “Cam” Gordon
Scott MacArthur Ness Gordon
Kate Hudson Isla Gordon
Drew Tarver Sandy Gordon
Fabrizio Guido Jackie Moreno

During the first season, Isla struggles with self-doubt, prejudice within the system, and an attempted takeover. Despite these challenges, her dedication helps her team reach the final game of the playoffs. However, the season ends on a suspenseful note, leaving the team’s future unclear and making the next season something fans won’t want to miss.

The Ramparts of Ice

Coming To Netflix: April 2

Netflix isn’t just home to popular, established anime; it also produces original animated series. One example is the upcoming show, The Ramparts of Ice, which is based on a popular manga. The story centers around Koyuki Hikawa (voiced by Anna Nagase), a shy student who unexpectedly finds herself at the center of a lively group of friends.

Koyuki Hikawa quickly finds herself surrounded by a surprisingly heartwarming group of friends. As she starts to let go of her guarded nature, she has to embrace new experiences, navigate the complexities of love, and confront the vulnerability that comes with truly letting others see who she is.
