Players are discovering that Pokémon Pokopia doesn’t include all the Pokémon in its Pokédex. While you’re building habitats to attract Pokémon in this relaxing life simulation game, it’s easy to miss the missing ones. Even with ideal habitats, some Pokémon remain difficult to find and catch, making completing the Pokédex a real challenge.
As players progress to the later stages of the game and focus on completing their collections and building habitats, they’ll notice a significant lack of one particular type of Pokémon: Ice-types. Aside from the Avalugg table decoration, Ice-type Pokémon are almost completely absent from the game.
Pokémon Pokopia Is Missing The Ice-Type
I Just Want My Spheal
It wouldn’t really fit the story to have Ice-type Pokémon in Pokopia as it is now. From the beginning, even water-type Pokémon like Squirtle were having trouble with the dryness, and the game’s environments are generally warm.
Okay, so I’ve been exploring this world, and it’s seriously lacking in any cold areas. I’ve gone from the beaches to the volcanic zones, and everything’s just… warm. It’s kinda sad, honestly. It feels like all the disasters and stuff humans caused really messed up the climate. But hey, I’ve heard Ditto and the others are working on fixing things up, so maybe, just maybe, we’ll get some snow and ice eventually, and all those Ice-type Pokémon will finally have a place to thrive!
Players Hope This Means A Snowy DLC Could Be In The Future
Reddit Users Discuss The Missing Type
A Reddit user named healingmist expressed a strong desire for a DLC with a snow theme for Pokémon, imagining features like snow-covered trees, Pikachu-shaped snowmen, and snowy weather. They even suggested a potentially divisive idea: making ice blocks slippery to create puzzles similar to those in past Pokémon games. This comment has gained significant popularity and seems like a feasible addition to the game.
We haven’t heard anything official about downloadable content (DLC) for Pokémon Pokopia yet, but the game will feature regular events that introduce new Pokémon. While these events could include Ice-type Pokémon, adding a whole group of them might be a bigger project better suited for a future DLC. Given how popular Pokémon Pokopia is, a substantial DLC seems likely.
