Microsoft has revealed the date for its next Xbox Partner Showcase, promising new game reveals and updates on games already available.
Xbox has been going through big changes recently, including the departures of leaders Phil Spencer and Sarah Bond, and the appointment of Asha Sharma as the new head of Microsoft Gaming. The direction of Xbox is currently uncertain, particularly with the popular Halo series now coming to PlayStation, and plans underway for a new console, currently called Project Helix.
Xbox Partner Showcase Confirmed For March 2026
Xbox has announced a showcase event happening on Thursday, March 26th, at 10 AM Pacific Time, 1 PM Eastern Time, or 5 PM in the UK. You can watch it live on the official Xbox YouTube and Twitch channels.
Microsoft announced that two new games—Stranger Than Heaven from Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio and The Expanse: Osiris Reborn by Owlcat Games—will be featured. They also confirmed an update and downloadable content will be available.
Xbox players have reason to be excited, as Microsoft has promised to showcase new games at the upcoming event. This is particularly welcome news, as there haven’t been many exclusive titles announced for Xbox lately.
Will Project Helix Appear At The Xbox Partner Showcase?
Interestingly, Microsoft left out any mention of ‘Project Helix’ – the internal name for their upcoming gaming console – in their recent announcement. It’s common for companies to announce if a new system won’t be showcased at events. For example, Sony announced towards the end of the PlayStation 4’s run that the PlayStation 5 wouldn’t be featured in one of their State of Play presentations.
Microsoft didn’t mention Project Helix, their potential new system, in their recent Xbox Partner Showcase blog post. While this doesn’t guarantee it’s happening – these showcases usually focus on games from other companies – it does leave the possibility open for an update on Project Helix in the future.
There’s talk that Project Helix might not be released until late 2027, though developers could get a first look at the technology earlier in the year. However, the increasing price of hardware makes even that timeline uncertain. If we hear about Project Helix at the Xbox Partner Showcase, it will probably just be a brief hint of Microsoft’s plans for the future of gaming.
Xbox’s Project Helix, as explained by VP Jason Ronald, aims to allow players to enjoy both Xbox console and PC games, suggesting it won’t be a typical gaming console. With Xbox facing recent challenges, any announcements about Project Helix could significantly shape the company’s direction.
