A recent preview of the upcoming Star Wars series revealed a compelling new Jedi Master. Though some established Jedi characters haven’t had their moment yet, Star Wars continues to introduce powerful Force users. This trend will continue in 2026, with one Jedi generating a lot of excitement before his debut on television.
The latest trailer for Lucasfilm’s Maul — Shadow Lord gave fans their best view yet of Jedi Master Eeko-Dio Daki. Daki seems to have a significant part to play in the series, which will be Darth Maul’s first standalone project.

Dennis Haysbert, known for his role in “24”, will be the voice of the character Eeko-Dio Daki. The new trailer features scenes of Eeko-Dio Daki speaking with Devon Izara, a Twi’lek Jedi who could potentially turn to the dark side and become a Sith. The trailer also showcases Izara’s combat skills and abilities with the Force.

Not much is known about Eeko-Dio Daki before this story begins, but he’s already made it clear to Devon Izara that while they both oppose the Empire, he doesn’t trust Maul to be an ally.

In this series, Daki is one of several Jedi facing off against Darth Maul, who is determined to return to his evil deeds and demonstrate his mastery with a lightsaber.

In 2026, several Jedi will appear in new Star Wars stories. One of them is Grogu, known to fans as Baby Yoda, who will be the focus of a theatrical release titled The Mandalorian and Grogu on May 22nd. The series The Mandalorian established Grogu’s connection to the Force, and he’s since trained as a Jedi under Luke Skywalker and Ahsoka Tano.

Ahsoka Tano was a Jedi trainee for many years before leaving the Jedi Order during the events of The Clone Wars. Now, working with her crew from the Ghost ship, she’s a formidable warrior, still proficient in the Force and lightsaber combat. She’ll be returning to action in Season 2 of Ahsoka later this year.

I’m so excited that Ezra Bridger is coming back for Season 2 of Ahsoka! Eman Esfandi is playing him, and it’s going to be amazing to see him in live action. Apparently, he’s got a bit of a beard now, but he’s still honing his Jedi skills – you know, the ones he first learned from Kanan Jarrus back in Star Wars Rebels.

Sabine Wren, portrayed by Natasha Liu Bordizzo, is another familiar face from Ahsoka and Rebels appearing this year. Though not naturally strong with the Force, she received Jedi training from Ahsoka Tano to improve her abilities.

Baylan Skoll is a former Jedi who has turned towards the dark side. The character, originally portrayed by the late Ray Stevenson and now by Rory McCann (known from Jumanji: The Next Level), joined forces with Morgan Elsbeth after the Empire was defeated.

In 2026, Hayden Christensen will reprise his iconic role as Anakin Skywalker in the Star Wars universe. Following a cameo as a Force Ghost in Season 1 of Ahsoka, he’ll return in a similar capacity for Season 2, continuing the story alongside his former apprentice as she progresses on her path.

Scheduled for release in 2026, “Maul — Shadow Lord” is a new Star Wars series coming to Disney+ on April 6th. The show stars Sam Witwer, Dennis Haysbert, Steve Blum, Richard Ayoade, and Gideon Adlon, and will follow Maul as he attempts to rebuild his criminal organization on the planet Janix, seeking revenge after the fall of the Empire.

Other Jedi Who Could Return in 2026

Besides the Force users already mentioned, a few other Jedi or those who used to be Jedi might reappear this year.
Disney+ will release a new series in 2026 called Visions Presents – The Ninth Jedi, a continuation of the Star Wars: Visions anthology. The series will follow Lah Kara, who previously escaped bounty hunters and set out on a journey to master the Force and save her father, Lah Zhima.
The new season of Ahsoka will likely feature the return of Ivanna Sakhno as Shin Hati, Baylan Skoll’s former apprentice. Although the details of her journey are unknown, she’s anticipated to be a formidable warrior, having joined forces with bandits on the planet Peridea.
The series Ahsoka could reintroduce Marrok, a Jedi who previously died in a duel with Ahsoka. When Ahsoka defeated him, green smoke emerged, suggesting he wasn’t a normal person but was instead created by the Nightsisters of Dathomir.
Although other Jedi might show up in future projects, fans are most excited to see what happens with the Jedi who are already confirmed to return and how their powers will shape the story.
