Saitama’s incredible strength in One-Punch Man means he can withstand any physical attack. The series portrays him as a hero who’s trained so hard that he’s rarely challenged. However, opponents who avoid direct physical fights and use powers based on things like manipulating reality, fate, or even minds, could actually pose a threat to him.
What really makes a villain truly terrifying in One-Punch Man, and different from someone Saitama could just one-shot, is that the best ones don’t even need to hit you to be a threat. It’s a power dynamic that completely bypasses his strength! Think about the truly epic villains from series like Berserk, Bleach, and Naruto – their power isn’t about brute force, and that’s something Saitama’s intense training just doesn’t prepare him for. It’s a whole different level of threat!
Naruto’s Greatest Villain Can Take as Many Punches as Saitama Can Throw
In Naruto, Madara Uchiha gained immense power by becoming the host of the Ten-Tails and unlocking the Rinne Sharingan. This allowed him to initiate the Infinite Tsukuyomi, a powerful genjutsu. Breaking free from this illusion requires a Rinnegan for protection and Six Paths Chakra to break the connection. Saitama from One-Punch Man doesn’t have either of these abilities, and there’s no way for him to obtain them.
Okay, so picture this: Madara’s Infinite Tsukuyomi doesn’t even touch Saitama physically. It hits his eyes, instantly grabs his mind, and BAM – he’s trapped in a dream world before he can even think about throwing a punch! The really scary part is, Saitama doesn’t have any of the defenses against it. He’s got no special eye powers, no spiritual energy, and nobody around to help him break free. He wouldn’t even realize he’d lost; the fight would be over before he knew it even started. It’s a total, instant capture!
Femto Is Untouchable After Berserk’s Eclipse
In a shocking and devastating turn of events at the peak of the Berserk story, Griffith betrayed his comrades in the Band of the Hawk, sacrificing them all during the Eclipse. This act allowed him to be reborn as Femto, a powerful member of the God Hand, and fundamentally changed him, removing him from the realm of ordinary heroes like One-Punch Man.
During the eclipse, Femto defended against Guts’ attacks by warping the space around them. This defense doesn’t involve blocking, absorbing impact, or even physical contact – it simply alters the path of the attack itself. Unlike Saitama’s incredibly powerful punches, which rely on physical force, Femto fights on a spatial and metaphysical level. This means any attack that isn’t permitted by Femto will never connect. Very few heroes could compete with a being like Dragon Ball Super’s Fused Zamasu.
I witnessed something incredible and terrifying during the battle – Future Zamasu and Goku Black fused together. It wasn’t just a simple merging, though. They combined Future Zamasu’s inability to die with Goku Black’s Saiyan ability to constantly grow stronger, creating a being that even the gods couldn’t fully comprehend. What was truly frightening was that nothing seemed to be able to kill him. I saw Goku blast right through his chest, but the wound instantly healed. Later, Future Trunks cut him in half with his Spirit Sword, but instead of being defeated, each half simply regenerated into a completely new, fully powered version of himself. It was a hopeless situation.
Fused Zamasu eventually became one with the entire universe, transforming from a physical being into a fundamental part of reality itself. This would make him untouchable even for someone as strong as Saitama, as any damage from Saitama’s punches would instantly heal. Furthermore, his incredibly powerful Holy Light Grenade – which previously overpowered Super Saiyan Blue Vegeta in Dragon Ball Super – would prevent Saitama from ever landing a finishing blow.

Gurren Lagann’s Anti-Spiral Bends Reality to Make Losing Impossible
In Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, the Anti-Spiral gained control over probability, evolution, space, and time. The final battle against him was incredibly destructive, involving galaxies thrown as weapons and energy levels similar to another Big Bang – far surpassing anything previously seen. The Anti-Spiral could warp reality to ensure his opponents couldn’t survive or defend themselves, making it statistically impossible to win against him, no matter how powerful they were.
The Anti-Spiral has abilities beyond simply punching – it can completely freeze universes, attack from different points in time all at once, and even erase beings from existence. These attacks don’t rely on physical force Saitama can block. Saitama’s strength is all about reacting to physical attacks, but the Anti-Spiral can change reality to prevent those attacks from even happening, leaving Saitama with nothing to respond to.
Ryuk Only Needs Saitama’s Name to Kill Him Using the Death Note
In the anime Death Note, Ryuk is a Shinigami – a god of death who is invisible to most humans. However, anyone with a Death Note can see him, and the book itself is impossible to destroy. If a human’s name is written in the Death Note, they will die of a heart attack within 40 seconds, no matter how strong they are. As seen in shows like Dragon Ball Z, even incredibly powerful characters aren’t immune to heart problems.
In One-Punch Man, Saitama is publicly known through his Hero Association registration, which would fulfill the condition for a kill in Death Note – the target’s name and face must be known. Ryuk, with his Shinigami eyes that reveal names and ages, could easily write Saitama’s name, causing his heart to stop within 40 seconds. The Death Note works by triggering a biological event – a heart attack – and therefore bypasses any physical strength or durability Saitama possesses.
Aizen’s Kyoka Suigetsu Fools Opponents With a Perfect Fake Reality
Sosuke Aizen, the most well-known villain in Bleach, possesses the incredibly powerful Kyoka Suigetsu. Its special ability, Kanzen Saimin, completely controls all five of a person’s senses, making them see a false reality they can’t escape. Once someone sees Kyoka Suigetsu activated, the illusion takes hold permanently, and even knowing it’s an illusion won’t help them break free.
Saitama is known for his ability to hit any target he focuses on. If Aizen created an illusion, Saitama’s most powerful punch would likely hit the fake target instead of Aizen himself, allowing Aizen to easily defeat him. Furthermore, Aizen’s Hogyoku allows him to constantly evolve and become stronger whenever he’s attacked. Even if Saitama could break through the illusion with his punch, the Hogyoku would simply cause Aizen to adapt and become immune to the attack.
