Season 3 of Invincible introduced us to Brit, who assisted in organizing the heroes battling Mark Grayson’s alternate universe counterparts. Unfortunately, we never saw Brit use his own powers. The last time we saw him, he was pulling the badly damaged cyborg body of Donald Ferguson from the debris, seemingly unharmed.
The fourth season of Invincible began with a three-episode arc where Cecil brought Robot, Bulletproof, and Monster Girl back to the Guardians of the Globe, appointing Brit as their leader – a decision Rudy didn’t agree with. However, Brit quickly proved his worth, remaining calm and unharmed during a confrontation with the Sequids, alien parasites who couldn’t even scratch him.

Their battle against the Flaxans proved a bit tougher than expected. Although Brit easily deflected their attacks – weapons that had caused problems for even Bulletproof and Monster Girl – the team was starting to get overrun. At one point, Brit even had to sacrifice himself by jumping on a grenade, just like Captain America, to protect his teammates.

It’s not surprising to learn that this tough, experienced soldier has a backstory similar to Captain America, but with abilities more like those of Luke Cage.
Brit’s Origin and Powers Matching Captain America & Luke Cage
Brit’s comic book origins were shrouded in mystery; he always said he was simply born invulnerable. But after a near-fatal attack by his unstable half-brother, Euclid, on both him and his son, Brit finally revealed the complete story to his wife.

A hundred years ago, after a tragic accident took his wife’s life, Brit’s father dedicated his life to finding a way to protect his loved ones from ever suffering a similar loss. He searched the world over and eventually developed a serum that granted invulnerability—much like the one that created super-soldiers such as Rogers.
Initially, his father’s serum appeared to have no effect, and Brit became dangerously sick. However, he eventually recovered and discovered he was now invulnerable to harm, though he didn’t gain any other superpowers. As Brit explained, “I couldn’t be hurt, but the serum didn’t give me things like increased strength or speed – everything else was normal.”
The process left him resembling Luke Cage – incredibly durable, but not as powerful, since he couldn’t lift something as heavy as a truck. Despite this, he followed a similar path to Captain America and joined the military, serving in World War I instead of World War II.

Brit’s father later remarried and had two more children, creating an enhanced version of the serum he’d originally given Brit. His new daughter, Britney, gained the same invulnerability as Brit, but also developed super strength – a power Brit never had. This made Britney’s abilities a better complement to those of Harlem’s Hero for Hire.
The serum also significantly slowed Brit’s aging process. While not as dramatic as his sister’s – which nearly stopped her aging completely – it still allowed him to live well past a hundred years. Importantly, unlike Captain America, he didn’t need to be preserved in ice to achieve that longevity.
