The NBC sitcom starring Reba McEntire is known for attracting famous guest stars, and it might soon add an Academy Award winner to the cast. The show has already featured well-known faces like Christopher Lloyd, Carol Kane, Steve Howey, and JoAnna García Swisher, and has even brought back some familiar faces from Reba.
Last season, we heard Octavia Spencer might be interested in joining the show, and I’m double-checking to confirm. I would be thrilled to have her! I’d love to discuss what kind of role she’d enjoy playing and create something specifically for her that showcases her talent. That’s my top pick: Octavia Spencer.
Octavia Spencer won an Academy Award in 2012 for her performance as Minny Jackson in The Help. She’s since received two additional Academy Award nominations for Hidden Figures and The Shape of Water, and has also been nominated for two Primetime Emmy Awards. Despite her success, she still enjoys making guest appearances on television comedies. Recently, she appeared in an episode of Young Sheldon playing a probation officer, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see her pop into the tavern featured in Happy’s Place.
Happy’s Place Season 2 Has a Stacked List of Guest Stars
As the second season of Happy’s Place continues, viewers are looking forward to what happens next. In a recent episode, “Izzy and the Professor,” Christopher Lloyd and Carol Kane are back as a playful couple who aren’t shy about flirting at the bar. Cheri Oteri, known from Saturday Night Live, joins the cast as a health inspector, and Andy Favreau plays a possible sperm donor for Gabby (Melissa Peterson). Many fans were especially thrilled to see JoAnna García Swisher appear in the latest episode, “Social Discontent,” as she and Reba McEntire previously played mother and daughter on the sitcom Reba.
Okay, so I’m super excited about Happy’s Place! I just heard that Jane Lynch is going to be on Season 2, Episode 13, “A New Chapter,” playing Gabby’s mom, Val. You might know her from The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel or all her other awesome roles – she’s won an Emmy! And get this – Eric Stonestreet from Modern Family and Dexter is also joining the show later on as a pretty unique therapist. Can’t wait to see what happens!
New episodes of Happy’s Place air Fridays at 8 p.m. ET on NBC and stream the next day on Peacock.
