But at its heart, Lioness is a really gripping spy thriller, and that’s what makes it so different and exciting.

Unlike Taylor Sheridan’s other shows, which generally focus on male characters, Lioness stands out with a predominantly female cast. While his other series do include some strong female characters, they aren’t as numerous. This focus on women gives Lioness a unique tone compared to shows like Mayor of Kingstown.
