Zack Snyder’s Justice League’s 5th Anniversary Gets a Special Trailer Post

Zack Snyder marked the five-year anniversary of his cut of Justice League by sharing a trailer and expressing gratitude to the fans who supported the film’s completion after it had been put on hold.

Zack Snyder posts Justice League trailer for fifth anniversary

Zack Snyder posted the original trailer for the Snyder Cut on Instagram, the same trailer used when it was first released. The trailer showcases a battle between Darkseid and a combined army of gods, humans, Atlanteans, and Amazons – a scene that wasn’t in the 2017 movie. It also gives a more prominent role to the main heroes: Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Flash, and Cyborg. The trailer’s emotional impact is heightened by the use of Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah,” a song Snyder also used in his film Watchmen, creating a meaningful connection for fans.

As a huge movie fan, it was awesome to see Zack Snyder give a shout-out to the fans after the release. He basically said the film happened because of us, even calling us ‘associate producers’ which is pretty incredible! The post blew up, and everyone was celebrating how long this movie took to finally come out. People were posting all kinds of stuff – praising the film, getting nostalgic, and even saying it’s a movie that’ll be remembered forever. It’s rare enough to get a good comic book movie, but to have one still being talked about years later? That’s something special.

This anniversary always makes me think back to the 2017 movie, and honestly, it’s a bit of a mixed bag. It was finished by Joss Whedon after some difficulties, and when it hit theaters, a lot of fans – myself included – noticed it felt a little off. The tone seemed inconsistent, and the story felt really rushed, especially knowing all the trouble they had making it.

Many fans were disappointed by the changes made to Zack Snyder’s original plans for the film. After years of campaigning online with the hashtag “Release the Snydercut,” their efforts led the studio to allow Snyder to finish his intended version, which was finally released in 2021. Even five years later, the film remains popular and influential, and fans continue to hope that the studio will revisit and continue Snyder’s vision for the DC Universe.
