I’ve been watching this series, and Yuji Itadori is definitely a standout character. He seems like a pretty normal, even goofy, guy at first, but it’s clear there’s a lot more to him. He’s actually building towards becoming a really powerful sorcerer, and it looks like he’s the one destined to defeat Ryomen Sukuna, the King of Curses.
Throughout the Jujutsu Kaisen series and its follow-up, Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, Yuji Itadori experiences significant changes. These transformations collectively illustrate the core narrative of JJK and depict Itadori’s journey from a typical student to arguably the most powerful jujutsu sorcerer ever.
High School Yuji Itadori Was a Freak Athlete With Dormant Cursed Energy
At the start of Jujutsu Kaisen, Yuji Itadori is just a typical high school student in Tokyo. He’s different from characters like Megumi Fushiguro and Satoru Gojo, who grew up knowing about jujutsu magic. Itadori has no idea about Cursed Energy or how it works, making him the most vulnerable he’ll ever be throughout the series.
Yuji Itadori is physically strong and fast, making him capable against weaker Cursed Spirits. He proved this in his first fight with Megumi Fushiguro, holding his own against the spirits attacking their school. But against any skilled jujutsu sorcerer or powerful Cursed Spirit, this early version of Itadori wouldn’t stand a chance.
Tokyo Jujutsu High Yuji Itadori Had Natural Talent on His Side
Yuji Itadori unlocked his cursed energy after consuming a part of Ryomen Sukuna. This allowed him to enroll at Tokyo Jujutsu High and begin training as a jujutsu sorcerer. He rapidly improved, showcasing natural fighting ability and quickly mastering new skills.
Yuji Itadori is remarkably gifted for someone who’s only recently become a jujutsu sorcerer. He quickly achieved a record for consecutive Black Flashes and demonstrated the ability to fight against powerful, Special Grade Curses like Mahito, Hanami, and Choso, showing he can hold his own even when pushed to his limits. While he’s still developing his skills and lacks extensive battle experience as of the Shibuya Incident, he’s likely as strong as some of the lower-ranked Grade 1 sorcerers.
Culling Game Yuji Itadori Had Enough Skills to Survive Against All But the Strongest Sorcerers
After the events in Shibuya, Yuji Itadori has changed. Burdened by the guilt of the recent tragedy and carrying a large portion of Sukuna’s power inside him, the main character of Jujutsu Kaisen now faces the challenges of the Culling Game with a determined and focused spirit, which helps him fight against its many opponents.
During the Culling Game arc, Itadori hasn’t yet mastered a specific cursed technique, but he compensates with a large amount of cursed energy, fighting skills, and natural strength. This allows him to hold his own against most of the players. He successfully fights several sorcerers early in the arc, and even survives a quick battle against Ryomen Sukuna, who had possessed Megumi Fushiguro, without sustaining serious injuries.
Shinjuku Showdown Yuji Itadori Has Finally Unlocked His Latent Potential
I watched the climax of the Jujutsu Kaisen story, the Shinjuku Showdown Arc, and it was all about Satoru Gojo, Yuji Itadori, and their friends trying to take down Ryomen Sukuna in his most powerful form. It was a huge challenge – sorcerers from centuries ago, back in the Heian Era, couldn’t do it. But this generation had a bit of an edge: Itadori himself proved to be a key to their chances.
As Yuji Itadori prepared for his final battle against Sukuna, he trained by temporarily switching consciousness with others, mastering techniques like Blood Manipulation and Shrine, and even developing his own powerful Domain Expansion. This training allowed him to withstand Sukuna’s attacks longer than anyone else, and ultimately, he was the one to defeat the King of Curses. While he couldn’t have done it alone, Yuji clearly reached an incredibly high level of power, nearing the rank of Special Grade, by the story’s end.
Sukuna’s Possession of Yuji Itadori Is an Existential Threat to Jujutsu Society
It might seem to go against the core idea of Jujutsu Kaisen, but Ryomen Sukuna is often in control when Yuji Itadori causes destruction. Sukuna’s attack in Shibuya leads to the deaths of countless innocent people, and no one except Satoru Gojo stands a chance against Yuji while Sukuna is possessing him.
Despite being weakened, Ryomen Sukuna is powerful enough to defeat Mahoraga with a single attack, demonstrating just how destructive he is. While he probably relied on Fushiguro’s Ten Shadows Technique to win against Gojo, Sukuna otherwise operates on a completely different level than anyone else.
Yuji Itadori Becomes the Strongest Sorcerer of All Time By JJK Modulo
I’m so excited about Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo! It’s set years after the original JJK, but the amazing thing is, Yuji Itadori doesn’t seem to have aged a bit! He’s still at the peak of his powers. And honestly? He’s become a completely different kind of sorcerer – way stronger than he was even during his fight with Ryomen Sukuna. It’s going to be incredible to see what he can do now!
While never directly confirmed, Yuji Itadori appears to be mastering incredibly powerful techniques – like consistently landing Black Flash attacks, skillfully using Shrine as well as Sukuna, and expanding the range of his Blood Manipulation. He’s also likely improving his Reinforced Cursed Technique and Domain Expansion. Kenjaku essentially created the ideal jujutsu sorcerer in Yuji Itadori, and the results of this creation are becoming apparent in Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo. Itadori is incredibly powerful, suggesting a bright future for the world.
