It’s been over 20 years since the original Prison Break, featuring Dominic Purcell and Wentworth Miller, first aired on Fox. The show ran for four seasons and was later brought back for a fifth season in 2017. Now, a completely new version of Prison Break is in the works, led by Elgin James, a co-creator of Mayans M.C.. Hulu ordered a pilot in December 2024 and quickly greenlit a full season last year. This reboot is a fresh start for the series, coming almost a decade after the last revival. The project is currently being developed, and Emily Browning, one of the new lead stars, recently shared some exciting details about their plans for this new take on the show.
Hulu is bringing back Prison Break with a new story and cast, led by Browning as Cassidy Collins. Collins is a former soldier who becomes a corrections officer at a dangerous prison, hoping to help a loved one who’s been incarcerated. While the original series followed Lincoln Burrows and Michael Scofield, this reboot will feature a fresh set of characters within the same Prison Break world. The cast also includes Lukas Gage, Drake Rodger, Clayton Cardenas, JR Bourne, Georgie Flores, and Myles Bullock.
