Recently released photos from the set of Mike Flanagan’s new Exorcist movie have given fans their first look at Scarlett Johansson’s character and hinted at the story’s direction. This Exorcist film will be a single, standalone story within the franchise, and Johansson will play a major role.

New photos released on Getty Images offer a closer look at Scarlett Johansson’s role in Mike Flanagan’s upcoming film, The Exorcist. The images show Johansson filming on location, including scenes of her walking outside and down stairs, alongside her co-stars Chiwetel Ejiofor, Rahul Kohli, and Sasha Calle. One photo captures all four actors walking together.

Johansson and Calle seem to be acting as detectives, judging by the badges they’re wearing in photos. Kohli appears to be a member of the police, as he’s wearing a police vest, but his exact role isn’t clear. Ejiofor’s connection to the group is currently a mystery, as there’s no indication he’s involved in law enforcement.
