A new game set in Middle-earth will be released in 2026, allowing players to command characters and forces from all sides – not just one specific group.
J.R.R. Tolkien’s world has inspired many board games, role-playing games, and video games because it’s full of exciting adventures and conflicts. While many fondly remember video game adaptations of the movies, it’s frustrating that they’re only available on older gaming systems.
The Lord of the Rings: Circle Of Conflict Is Coming In 2026
Launching November 6, 2026, The Lord of the Rings: Circle of Conflict is a new board game you can pre-order now for $49.99. It’s officially licensed and created by Office Dog, who have also released a short preview trailer on their YouTube channel.
In Circle of Conflict, players lead armies vying for possession of the One Ring. Designed for 2 to 4 players, the game features simultaneous turns, creating dynamic and strategic battles. It’s a quick-moving, competitive board game that truly delivers on its promise of a unique multiplayer experience.
In The Lord of the Rings: Circle of Conflict, players each have a personal screen to hide information and a battle board to track their progress. The game uses dice rolls to determine what players can do, like moving around Middle-earth, strengthening their forces, or getting help from powerful characters such as Gandalf and the Witch-king.
Many video games set in The Lord of the Rings ask players to pick a side, like Gondor, Isengard, Rohan, or Mordor.
The Lord of Rings: Circle of Conflict Is Perfect for Fans of the Franchise
This game will likely be a hit with fans of tabletop games and The Lord of the Rings. Beyond gameplay, it’s a beautifully crafted item that many will want to collect. It includes a wooden Gollum figure for use as a game marker, plus eight unique dice. The packaging is also visually striking and would look great on display.
It’s difficult to fully understand the gameplay without seeing it in action, but this new game looks like a refreshing take on the world of Middle-earth. Players will be able to experience The Lord of the Rings: Circle of Conflict firsthand when it releases on November 6, 2026.
