Gen V Season 3 has received a promising update ahead of The Boys‘ Season 5 return.

What is the latest Gen V Season 3 update?

The popular show The Boys is finishing after its fifth season, but the future of its spin-off, Gen V, is still uncertain. However, recent news hints that Gen V might be renewed for another season on Prime Video.

At Emerald City Comic Con 2026 in Seattle, stars Karl Urban and Laz Alonso from ‘The Boys’ talked about the show’s future. Alonso shared his thoughts on which series might carry on the story after ‘The Boys’ concludes.

According to Popverse, showrunner Eric Alonso stated that ‘Gen V’ and ‘Vought Rising’ are the series most likely to carry on the story after the current show concludes.

While not an official confirmation, Alonso’s comments imply Gen V will continue in the future.

Gen V is a spin-off of The Boys, focusing on the next generation of superheroes training at Godolkin University. The school’s purpose is to identify promising students who could eventually join Vought International and become members of The Seven.

Gen V features Jaz Sinclair as Marie Moreau, Lizze Broadway as Emma Meyer, Maddie Phillips as Cate Dunlap, London Thor and Derek Luh both playing Jordan Li, Asa Germann as Sam Riordan, Sean Patrick Thomas as Polarity, and Hamish Linklater as Dean Cipher.

As a huge fan of ‘The Boys’ universe, I was really interested to learn who’s running the show for ‘Gen V’. It turns out Michele Fazekas is the showrunner, which is awesome! And wow, the list of executive producers is incredibly impressive – it includes Eric Kripke (who I loved on ‘Supernatural’!), Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, and a whole bunch of other talented people like Neal H. Moritz, Garth Ennis (the creator of ‘The Boys’ comics!), and so many more. It’s clear they’ve assembled a seriously strong team behind the scenes.

Gen Season 1 premiered in September 2023, and Season 2 aired in September 2025.

The new Gen V content is being released just a month before Season 5 of The Boys begins. The first two episodes of The Boys Season 5 will be available to stream on Prime Video starting April 8, 2026.
