Dungeons & Dragons is the most famous tabletop roleplaying game ever created, and its popularity was boosted by the 2023 film, Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves. Now, a new series based on the game is being released, and early reviews suggest it’s just as good as the movie, which received a 92% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
A new comic book series, Dungeons & Dragons: The Fallbacks, launched on October 15, 2025. It’s written by Greg Pak, with art by Wilton Santos, Edvan Alves, and Raúl Angulo. Readers on League of Comic Geeks gave the first issue a strong 4.0 out of 5 stars, calling it “very positive.”
The show is getting fantastic reviews, with fans enjoying its funny and unpredictable take on Dungeons & Dragons as much as the hit movie Honor Among Thieves, which critics and audiences both loved. There was a setback with the second issue of the comic The Fallbacks, but the wait is almost over! Issues #3 and #4 will be released soon after.

Dungeons & Dragons: The Fallbacks #2 Releases March 11, 2026
If you enjoyed the fun, adventurous spirit and team of unlikely heroes in Honor Among Thieves, you’ll likely love The Fallbacks. This series centers around a group of brave, but flawed, adventurers – known as The Fallbacks – who head to the city of Loudwater hoping to find wealth and fame.
Things don’t go quite smoothly for the Fallbacks, as the first issue hints at trouble when they run into some kobold thieves. This puts them on a collision course with a particularly irritating group of local heroes. The story will explore whether the Fallbacks can successfully pull off a major heist, or if they’ll risk everything to take down these meddling ‘heroes’.
The first issue is now available, and it’s a fun, fast-paced story filled with humor and playful trouble that fans of the game will instantly recognize. Similar to the characters in Honor Among Thieves, this series follows a group of unlikely heroes – they’re not the most talented adventurers, but they get the job done.
This first issue is a really captivating and fun start, and it delivers the strong storytelling and detailed world that Dungeons & Dragons fans expect. The adventure continues with issue #2 on March 11th, followed by the final two issues on April 29th and May 20th.
If you enjoyed The Legend of Vox Machina on Amazon Prime – especially if you’re familiar with Critical Role, the web series it’s based on and features the original voice actors – then this Dungeons & Dragons series is for you. It’s full of the same fun, unpredictable adventures and heroic quests you’d expect, making it a great next watch!
The Fallbacks raided the tomb of the Lost Lord of Loudwater, but the treasure they found might be cursed. Their actions have awakened a powerful white dragon, which is now attacking the town, and the party must quickly defend Loudwater from its icy breath. Meanwhile, a new event, the Tournament of Heroes, offers the Fallbacks a chance to prove themselves – and get revenge on Angrilyne’s team – if they can emerge victorious.
Dungeons & Dragons: The Fallbacks #2 from Dark Horse Comics is available on March 11, 2026!
