Even after just four seasons, Netflix’s crime drama The Lincoln Lawyer has quickly become one of the streaming service’s best shows in the genre. When Bosch, adapted from Michael Connelly’s novels, first premiered on Prime Video in 2015 after seven seasons, critics weren’t initially as enthusiastic.
The first season of Bosch received a respectable 83% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, but the show really hit its stride with season 2, earning a perfect 100% score. Remarkably, Bosch kept that incredibly high critical acclaim for the rest of the series, solidifying its place as one of the best crime procedural shows ever made.

It’s no surprise that, after four seasons, Michael Connelly’s TV series is considered one of Netflix’s top crime dramas. In early February 2026, The Lincoln Lawyer – based on Connelly’s book series that started with the 2005 novel of the same name – was the streaming service’s most popular show.
The series centers around Mickey Haller, a lawyer known for working out of his car, and played by Manuel Garcia-Ruffo. Haller is in recovery and shares similarities with another of the author’s well-known characters, Harry Bosch. Both are exceptionally skilled at their jobs and dedicated to finding justice, but they also struggle with personal issues.

The first few seasons of The Lincoln Lawyer present a standard legal drama formula—Mickey Haller rebuilds his career by solving big cases and catching criminals. However, the show truly shines as it progresses. A strong supporting cast adds depth and complexity, making the series about more than just Mickey’s journey and increasing the overall dramatic impact.
Becki Newton, Neve Campbell, and Yaya DaCosta help make the female characters in The Lincoln Lawyer strong and well-developed, going beyond simply being romantic interests. The show also features compelling drama as Mickey Haller works to build his legal practice. The villains are as intricate as those in Bosch, and the plot keeps you guessing with unexpected twists and turns.
The Lincoln Lawyer Can Last As Long As Michael Connelly’s Other Streaming Franchise
Set in Los Angeles, The Lincoln Lawyer shares a similar feel to Bosch, but smartly avoids a pitfall that both that show and the legal drama The Good Fight sometimes fell into: basing entire storylines on current events. Instead, The Lincoln Lawyer creates original narratives.
This approach keeps the show feeling fresh and avoids it seeming desperate to stay current – a common pitfall for legal dramas. Because of this, there’s every reason to believe The Lincoln Lawyer will be successful for many years, with the possibility of multiple seasons and even future spin-off shows.
As a big fan of The Lincoln Lawyer, I’m so excited for season 5! I know they’re adapting Michael Connelly’s Resurrection Walk, and honestly, there are so many other great books of his that they could turn into seasons down the line. I really hope this show has a long run on Netflix – it deserves it!
