Alien: Earth Sets Season 2 Production Window, Lead Star Confirms

Many fans are eagerly awaiting news about the new sci-fi series coming to FX/Hulu. Fortunately, an update has finally arrived, and it’s positive!

Sydney Chandler, one of the stars of Alien: Earth, has revealed that production for Season 2 is currently planned to begin in May 2026. This indicates that showrunner Noah Hawley is actively working to bring the series back to FX/Hulu in the near future.

To achieve this, Hawley is relocating production from Thailand to Pinewood Studios in London – the same location where films like Alien 3 and Prometheus were made.

He announced on Instagram that he’s thrilled to begin working on season 2 of Alien: Earth, mentioning that the show will further develop the origins of the Alien universe.

Okay, so there was supposed to be a crossover with the new Predator movies, the ones that started with Predator: Badlands. Honestly, it’s probably a good thing that didn’t happen. FX and Hulu already have a huge success on their hands, and frankly, they don’t need to borrow any ratings from another franchise – this show is already soaring!

Alien: Earth, Syndey Chandler Are Made For Each Other

I have to say, Chandler is incredible in Alien: Earth! She plays Wendy, this hybrid character, and completely owns the role. It’s so cool to watch her transform Marcy Hermit into this really self-aware leader who ends up rallying the other hybrids to take over Neverland. Honestly, she’s a scene-stealer, especially when she’s acting alongside Timothy Olyphant – their chemistry is fantastic!

When creating a performance, I like to start with a specific part of the body – like the nose, hips, or mouth – as a guide. For the character Wendy, I focused on the eyes, as she has incredibly sharp vision and is always observing everything around her. Much of her performance comes through her eyes and facial expressions. The most challenging part of filming Alien: Earth was the sheer amount of action. We did two and a half weeks of night shoots in a row, and it was exhausting. By the end, I felt like I’d run a triathlon – doing 20 or 30 takes consecutively, sprinting from 2am to 5am, and then repeating it the next day.

Seeing Alex Lawther perform – especially since he had the most physically demanding stunts – really pushed me to improve. He was incredibly dedicated and never complained, always giving his all. Before each scene, we’d warm up with exercises like jumping jacks, push-ups, and running in place, then dive right in. It was a tough but enjoyable experience. I’d never done so much physical work in a role before, but I’m eager to do more action now – it’s incredibly satisfying to work with your body like that.

Fans of Alien: Earth, like the critics who’ve given it a 94% Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes, are excited to see what happens next, and now they have good news: Season 2 is coming soon!
