This weekend, March 6–8, 2026, offers some great new shows to watch! We recommend checking out the latest season of a funny comedy, plus two brand-new Netflix series that are expected to be huge successes.
Last week saw popular new shows like the reality competition House of Villains, the thriller Paradise season 2, and the second part of Bridgerton season 4 – all great for a night of binge-watching. This week, Ebaster’s TV experts have picked a diverse range of new releases across different streaming services that they consider the best of the best.
Ted
Season 2 of Ted began streaming on Peacock this Thursday, March 5th, with eight new episodes. The show is a prequel to the popular 2012 Ted movie created by Seth MacFarlane, and starring Mark Wahlberg and Mila Kunis.
Season 2 of Ted continues the story from season 1, set in the early 1990s. After a brief period of fame, Ted the bear is back living with his best friend, John Bennett (played by Max Burkholder), and John’s family. The show humorously follows Ted and John as they deal with the ups and downs of being teenagers and going through high school.
I’ve been checking out the early buzz for Ted season 2, and it sounds fantastic! Collider said it wraps up this part of the story really well, delivering big laughs, some surprisingly sweet moments, and all the raunchy, unapologetic humor you’d expect. If you’re a fan of the Ted movies or Seth MacFarlane’s style of comedy – think Family Guy – you absolutely should check out Ted season 2 this weekend. It’s streaming exclusively on Peacock.
The Dinosaurs
This Friday, March 6th, Netflix is adding several new shows and movies, including the true crime documentary series The TikTok Killer and the Korean romantic comedy Boyfriend on Demand. However, the highlight of the new releases might be The Dinosaurs, a four-part series that explores the history of these ancient creatures from the Mesozoic Era, millions of years ago.
What makes The Dinosaurs so captivating is the narration by Morgan Freeman, an Academy Award winner. He expertly leads viewers on a journey through the entire history of dinosaurs, from when they first appeared to their eventual extinction. This major new nature documentary on Netflix is both educational and visually spectacular, all packed into just four immersive episodes.
Vladimir
If you’re looking for a new show to watch this weekend, Netflix’s Vladimir is a great choice. It’s a short binge – only 8 episodes, and each one is under 32 minutes. With a captivating cast including Rachel Weisz, Leo Woodall, and John Slattery, the series is a compelling mix of dark humor, suspenseful drama, and passionate romance.
The Netflix series Vladimir is adapted from a popular novel by Julia May Jones, who also wrote the screenplay. At just under four hours long, the show is perfect for binge-watching in a single session. An interesting feature of the series is the main character, a professor played by Weisz, who frequently breaks the fourth wall. She develops an intense infatuation with her colleague, played by Woodall, hoping to reignite her own inspiration.
The new series Vladimir is getting positive reviews, with a 71% rating on Rotten Tomatoes as of its premiere on March 5th – though that score could change. It’s expected to be a major hit on Netflix in March 2026 and is a great choice for a weekend binge, especially if you enjoy dramatic and intense romantic stories.
