Avengers: Doomsday: New Photo Reveals Return of 1 ‘Deadpool’ Costume

A recently released photo from the set of Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Doomsday shows that a key costume design from the Deadpool universe will be featured in the film. Deadpool’s most recent movie significantly advanced the concept of the multiverse within the MCU, paving the way for some of the most anticipated characters and scenes in Doomsday.

Costume designs from the upcoming Marvel movie Avengers: Doomsday were shared online after appearing on merchandise given to the film’s crew. The leaked images include a first look at Channing Tatum as Gambit, who recently appeared in Deadpool & Wolverine (2024) as part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Tatum is back as Gambit, and a new image shows him in a costume very similar to the one he wore in the first film.

New photos from the 2026 Futures Festival at Pinewood Studios (a location used for filming part of Doomsday) revealed another glimpse of Gambit in his costume for the upcoming Avengers movie.

The image focuses on Gambit’s face and shoulders, giving us a glimpse of his leather jacket and headgear – items we previously saw in the Deadpool & Wolverine trailer. Like the earlier promotional art, the design isn’t perfectly the same, but it appears to be the same one that will appear in both films.

The upcoming third Deadpool movie, which will be the first one officially part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), features a live-action appearance by Gambit for the second time, following Taylor Kitsch’s portrayal in the 2009 film X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Channing Tatum’s version of Gambit is the most faithful to the comic books so far, complete with the character’s signature leather jacket, grey and purple costume, and, of course, his playing cards used in fights.

Although Gambit’s costume in Doomsday might not be identical to the one in Deadpool and Wolverine, the overall look is expected to be familiar to fans. This will be the first time Gambit teams up with the main X-Men group, joining six other well-known actors from the previous X-Men movies made by 20th Century Fox.

I’m so excited for Avengers: Doomsday! It’s going to be the fifth Avengers movie and the second big Marvel release in 2026. From what I’ve heard, it’s going to be huge – not only will we see Channing Tatum as Gambit, but over twenty other familiar faces from across the MCU and Marvel’s past are confirmed to appear! The story will bring together the Avengers, X-Men, Fantastic Four, and everyone against Robert Downey Jr. playing the villain, Victor von Doom. It’s hitting theaters on December 18th, and I’ve already marked my calendar!

Gambit’s Expected Impact on Avengers: Doomsday

Channing Tatum’s first appearance as Gambit in Deadpool & Wolverine was a huge hit with fans, offering both humor and exciting action – many consider it the best portrayal of the character so far. Now, Gambit is set to return in an upcoming Avengers movie, and for the first time ever, he’ll share the screen with the X-Men in a major film.

Although we don’t yet know exactly how Gambit will be involved, the actors announced so far are expected to play the main characters in the movie. Fans are especially excited to see Channing Tatum interact with iconic characters like Professor X, Magneto, and Beast as they all join forces in the Marvel Cinematic Universe for the first time, promising lots of action and compelling stories.

The big question now is what will happen to Gambit by the end of the movie, particularly since Doctor Doom is predicted to be the most ruthless and powerful villain the Marvel Cinematic Universe has ever faced.
