When To Expect Ghost Of Yotei On PC, Based On Tsushima & Other PlayStation Exclusives

2025 didn’t bring a huge number of exclusive games to the PlayStation 5. The two major releases were Ghost of Yotei and Death Stranding 2, and while it’s not very likely, Ghost of Yotei might eventually be available on PC too. The game has been praised for building upon the success of Ghost of Tsushima and improving on some of its weaknesses. Although Sony has become known for these cinematic, exclusive games, they’ve recently started releasing many of their first-party titles on PC as well.

Popular PlayStation games like God of War, Horizon, and Marvel’s Spider-Man are now also available on PC. While Ghost of Tsushima is a major PlayStation 5 exclusive this year (with Death Stranding 2 being developed by an independent studio), there are rumors that Sony might not release it on PC, unlike its previous games.

Will Ghost Of Yotei Be On PC?

There’s No Official Confirmation, But It’s Not Likely

Since the game launched on PlayStation 5, there’s been no announcement about whether Ghost of Yotei will be released on PC. Recent reports indicate that PlayStation is stopping PC ports of its single-player games, starting immediately. According to Bloomberg, Sony has reconsidered its approach to bringing these games to PC. This change won’t impact multiplayer titles, like Marathon and Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls, which are still planned to be released on PC.

Bloomberg points out that two games – last year’s Ghost of Yotei and the upcoming Saros – will stay exclusive to the PlayStation 5. This means the Ghost of Tsushima series is now divided, as the original Ghost of Tsushima was released on PC. The PC version included the Director’s Cut with the Iki Island expansion and featured improvements for PC, such as support for ultrawide monitors, an unlocked frame rate, and mouse and keyboard controls.

Many people assumed that if Tsushima was released on PC, Yotei would follow. This article was written before reports of Sony shifting its approach to exclusive games, and I looked at potential release dates for Yotei on PC. While the original data is still here, I’ve updated the analysis because it now seems less likely that Yotei will be ported to PC.

Other PlayStation PC Games Provide Clues

PlayStation didn’t have a clear plan for bringing its games to PC. Here’s a list of PlayStation exclusives that have been released on PC, organized by when they came out on PC.

The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered January 19, 2024 April 3, 2025 1 year, 3 months
Stellar Blade April 26, 2025 June 11, 2025 1 year, 2 months

The ‘Time Difference’ column shows some unusual cases. The Uncharted games were remastered for PS5 and then released on PC several years after they first came out. Until Dawn‘s remake and Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered were both released on PC at the same time as their updates. The Last of Us Part 1 is a complete remake of a game originally released in 2013. For most other games, the time between the original release and the PC version is typically between one and four years, but it varies.

If we were to compare to Ghost of Yotei, Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut would have been the closest example, as it came to PC about two years and nine months after its PlayStation 5 release. However, Sony has been faster with more recent games. God of War Ragnarok, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, and Stellar Blade all became available on PC in under two years.

Originally, if plans hadn’t changed, I thought a PC version of Ghost of Yotei would have launched about two years after its PlayStation 5 release on October 2, 2025. However, with no announcement and rumors that PlayStation is no longer porting single-player games to PC, it now seems likely that Ghost of Yotei will stay exclusive to the PS5. Ultimately, only Sony knows the full story, and they may not have even started planning a PC release.

Currently, the only upcoming release for Ghost of Yotei is the Legends multiplayer expansion, launching on March 10th. Players who enjoyed Tsushima on PC and were hoping for a continuation on that platform might be disappointed. However, this could mean Sucker Punch can fully focus its resources on its next game, without having to support a PC version of Ghost of Yotei.
