Scary Movie 6 Trailer’s Online Release Date Is Very Soon — Report

Fans are getting excited about the upcoming Scary Movie 6! The first trailer is expected to be released online soon. The movie, a parody film, is set to hit theaters this summer – marking a 13-year gap since the last installment, Scary Movie 5. What’s more, some of the original cast members are returning for this new film.

Scary Movie 6 trailer’s online release date possibly revealed

Industry insider Daniel RPK says the trailer for Scary Movie 6 is expected to be released online on Monday, March 2, 2026. A sneak peek of the trailer is currently being shown before screenings of Scream 7 in theaters. Scary Movie 6 is scheduled to be released in theaters on June 12, 2026.

We don’t yet know the specifics of the new movie’s plot. But in an interview with ComicBook, star Marlon Wayans hinted that it might playfully imitate films like Get Out, Longlegs, Nope, Heretic, I Know What You Did Last Summer, Scream, and the Oscar-nominated Sinners.

I’m so excited to hear that the new film is going to playfully poke fun at Terrifier 3! Apparently, Felissa Rose, who was fantastic in Terrifier 2, is going to be in a scene that’s a really clever reference to that infamous mall Santa sequence – you know, the one where Art the Clown… well, let’s just say it involves some exploding kids. It sounds absolutely wild and I can’t wait to see how they pull it off!

Originally, this scene was said to have been removed. But a shorter version was later put back in the film. The source also mentioned the movie would playfully imitate elements from Zach Cregger’s Weapons, John Krasinski’s A Quiet Place, and a film called Sinners.

Last year, Marlon Wayans told Entertainment Weekly that the new movie will be a hilarious and unrestrained comedy that doesn’t shy away from making jokes about anyone. He explained that all of his films aim for this kind of broad humor, adding, “We just want to make people laugh, and we don’t worry about offending anyone – even people who are easily offended need to be able to laugh at themselves.”

Michael Tiddes, who previously directed ‘A Haunted House’ and its sequel, was the director of the film. Marlon Wayans collaborated with his brothers, Shawn and Keenen Ivory Wayans, and Rick Alvarez to write the script.

Marlon and Shawn Wayans are back as Shorty Meeks and Ray Wilkins, the characters they played in the first two Scary Movie films. Anna Faris, Regina Hall, Jon Abrahams, Lochlyn Munro, and Dave Sheridan are also returning to reprise their roles as Cindy Campbell, Brenda Meeks, Bobby Prinze, Greg Phillippe, and Doofy Gilmore, respectively.
