The popular CBS crime drama from Dick Wolf, the creator of Law & Order, is currently a streaming hit on Paramount+. After a break, new episodes have started airing.
According to FlixPatrol, as of February 25, 2026, FBI is the fifth most popular show on Paramount+ in the United States. The show, now in its eighth season, recently returned from a break that began in mid-December, and it’s quickly gaining popularity with viewers, as evidenced by its climb in the rankings. By February 23rd, fans were clearly tuning in again.
Fans Around the World Are Flocking to FBI on Streaming
The show has quickly become popular again, not just in the US on Paramount+, but around the world. It’s currently ranked #8 in Australia (also on Paramount+) and has been in the top 10 on Canal+ in the Czech Republic for over a week, hitting #7. Even more impressively, it’s been the #1 show in Japan (streaming on Hulu via Nippon) for five consecutive days and continues to hold that spot.
As a big fan of police dramas, I started watching FBI back in 2018. It really reminded me of other shows from Dick Wolf, focusing on the inner workings of the New York field office. The cast is fantastic – Zeeko Zaki, Jeremy Sisto, Alana de la Garza, John Boyd, and Juliana Aiden Martinez all bring so much to their roles.
With so many shows available on streaming services, FBI is unusual because its audience hasn’t declined over time – and Season 7 in 2024 actually saw more viewers than previous seasons. The most recent season averaged 10.42 million total viewers, up from 8.82 million in Season 6.
FBI Showrunners Teased a Potential Fan-Favorite Comeback
Before the latest season of FBI began last October, one of the show’s creators hinted at future storylines, including possibilities related to the recently canceled show FBI: Most Wanted. They suggested we might see characters or plotlines from FBI: Most Wanted reappear in the original series.
Showrunner Mike Weiss hinted that they plan to continue exploring the connection between Shantel VanSanten’s character, Nina Chase, and John Boyd’s Stuart Scola, even with a recent cast change. He emphasized they don’t want to drop that storyline.
Viewers first saw VanSanten’s character in Season 8, Episode 11, and her role on the show may be limited. According to Weiss, they’re hoping to incorporate Nina in a few different ways, but they’re still working out the details because Shantel is a very busy and sought-after actress.
FBI is now streaming on Paramount+.
