‘The Dreadful’ Kiss Scene: Sophie Turner and Kit Harington React in New Video

Natasha Kermani’s new horror film, The Dreadful, proved challenging for stars Sophie Turner and Kit Harington. The actors, best known for playing siblings Sansa and Jon Snow on Game of Thrones, found it awkward filming romantic scenes together. A behind-the-scenes video shows them playfully reacting with disgust after having to kiss for a particularly intimate moment in the movie.

A video shared by Entertainment Tonight shows Sophie Turner and Kit Harington having a funny reaction while filming a kiss for their new show, The Dreadful. After the director called “Cut! Beautiful!”, the couple jokingly pretended to gag, which made the crew laugh. In a previous interview with the outlet, Harington joked that, of all the characters on Game of Thrones, Jon Snow would be the least enthusiastic about an incestuous relationship.

Sophie Turner recounted a challenging experience on Late Night With Seth Meyers about filming intimate scenes with her former Game of Thrones co-star, Kit Harington. She described how they both felt sick during their first kissing scene, realizing they were playing characters who were intimately involved despite being siblings in real life. Turner called the experience “vile,” but clarified it wasn’t a reflection on Harington. He later confirmed to E! News that kissing Turner in The Dreadful was indeed “weird.”

She recommended that movie to me, but surprisingly, she didn’t share my interpretation of it. I remember asking her, ‘Don’t you think those characters are clearly in love?’ It felt strange bringing it up. Still, it was great to spend time with her and work on the project again. It was a little awkward having to stand on a box to kiss her – she’s much taller than me! – but overall, I managed to keep my composure.

What Is ‘The Dreadful’ About?

In the new film, The Dreadful, former Game of Thrones co-stars play Anne and Jago, who become lovers. The movie is a creepy, historical horror story set in medieval England. Jago returns home after years of fighting in the war, but he carries a dangerous curse that could ruin Anne and her mother, Morwen. They’re already facing a difficult life, living in isolation and struggling to get by.
