The survival thriller Fall is currently becoming very popular on Netflix, and Lionsgate is getting ready to release a sequel that everyone’s been waiting for.
The movie Fall, released in 2022, earned $2.5 million during its opening weekend. Although it started in 10th place, it eventually made $21 million worldwide, which was a significant return on its $3 million budget. Critics and audiences generally liked the film, giving it a 79% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
As of February 19, 2026, the show Fall is the second most popular title on Netflix in the U.S., behind Joe’s College Road Trip, the newest movie in Tyler Perry’s Madea series.
The films A Father’s Miracle, the live-action How to Train Your Dragon, KPop Demon Hunters, Homefront, The Black Phone, State of Fear, The Secret Life of Pets, and Flipped completed the top ten list.
Currently, the most popular shows on Netflix are Reality Check: Inside America’s Next Top Model, Love is Blind, The Hunting Party, The Lincoln Lawyer, Sommore: Chandelier Fly, Bridgerton, Katt Williams: The Last Report, Jeffrey Epstein: Filthy Rich, Being Gordon Ramsay, and His & Hers.
The movie Fall tells the story of two friends, Becky and Shiloh, who attempt to climb a very tall, abandoned TV tower. This climb happens a year after Shiloh’s husband died in a rock climbing accident.
Their day went horribly wrong when the ladder they were using snapped, leaving the friends stranded on the tower. Now, they have to focus on surviving and finding a way to get down safely.
The thriller film Fall was a surprise success, and it ended with a shocking twist that completely changed how the whole story was understood.
Grace Caroline Currey and Virginia Gardner were the stars of the movie Fall. Currey has appeared in several films and TV shows, including Badland, Annabelle: Creation, Shazam!, Shazam! Fury of the Gods, Ghost Whisperer, and Revenge. Gardner is known for her roles in Project Almanac, the 2018 Halloween film, All the Bright Places, The Goldbergs, and Marvel’s Runaways.
In addition to the main cast, Mason Gooding, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Julia Pace Mitchell, and Jasper Cole also starred in Fall. Scott Mann directed the movie and wrote the screenplay with Jonathan Frank. Christian Mercuri, James Harris, Mark Lane, Scott Mann, and David Haring were the producers.
Following the positive reception of the first movie in cinemas and on Netflix, Lionsgate has confirmed Fall 2. Peter and Michael Spierig, who directed Jigsaw, will be directing the sequel, with Scott Mann and Brian Frank returning to write the screenplay. Harriet Slater, Arsema Thomas, and Tom Brittney are set to star.
This time, the story follows Shiloh’s sister as she tries to cross a dangerous plank high on Mount Kwan-in in Taipei. But when something goes wrong, she and a friend find themselves in a life-threatening situation.
While an exact date hasn’t been revealed, the sequel to Fall is currently planned for release around 2026.
