Spider-Man 4 Plot Description Reveals Movie’s MCU Timeline Placement

The first plot description for Spider-Man 4 has emerged online.

The next Spider-Man movie, currently titled Spider-Man 4 or Spider-Man: Brand New Day, is coming to US theaters this summer. Tom Holland will return as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, and the film will be directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, who previously directed Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.

What is the Spider-Man 4 plot description?

Details about Spider-Man 4’s story are still scarce, with no official trailer released by Marvel and Sony. But a recent description of an upcoming art book for the film has given Marvel fans a first look at what to expect, and it suggests a significant time jump since the end of Spider-Man: No Way Home.

It’s been four years since we last saw Spider-Man, and a lot has changed. Peter Parker is gone, but Spider-Man is still protecting New York City and doing well. However, a strange series of crimes leads him into a huge mystery—bigger than anything he’s faced before. To solve it, Spider-Man will need to be at his best, both physically and mentally, and confront the consequences of his past actions.

Besides Holland, the movie Spider-Man: Brand New Day also stars Zendaya as Michelle “MJ” Jones-Watson, Jacob Batalon as Ned Leeds, Sadie Sink, Liza Colón-Zayas, Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle (the Punisher), Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner (the Hulk), Michael Mando as Mac Gargan (the Scorpion), Tramell Tillman, and Marvin Jones III as Lonnie Lincoln (Tombstone).

Spider-Man 4 arrives on July 31, 2026.
