Nearly a hundred years after first appearing in comics, the famous cowboy Lucky Luke is coming to life in a new streaming series. The first trailer has just been released, promising plenty of action, including fast-paced chases, exciting duels, and thrilling adventures.
The new series stars Alban Lenoir, famous for his role in the action films Lost Bullet, as Lucky Luke, a legendary gunslinger known for being incredibly quick on the draw – so fast, they say he shoots faster than his own shadow. The first look at the series playfully hints at this famous reputation.
I’ve always been a huge fan of “Lucky Luke,” and I’m so excited about the new Disney+ series! It all started with the brilliant comic strip Morris created back in 1949 – a truly imaginative world where this incredible cowboy and his horse, Jolly Jumper, constantly battle everything from classic villains to legendary figures, and even run into real outlaws and personalities from the Old West like the Dalton Gang and Calamity Jane. It’s amazing to think that over 82 volumes have been published, translated into 36 languages, and adapted into films, cartoons, and games! This year marks 80 years since Lucky Luke first appeared, and I can’t wait to see his adventures continue when the series finally premieres on March 23, 2026.
‘Lucky Luke’ Will Have to Face the Ghosts of His Past
The new series, Lucky Luke, is coming to Disney+ and France Télévisions. Billie Blain (The Animal Kingdom, The Holy Family) plays Louise, who teams up with Lucky Luke, portrayed by Alban Lenoir. Alice Taglioni, Jérôme Nie, Camille Chamoux, and Victor Le Blond also star. Here’s a look at what the series is about…
Get ready for a new adventure with Lucky Luke, the famous cowboy! He teams up with Louise, a charming but unpredictable eighteen-year-old, to search for her missing mother. Their journey across the Wild West will also involve stopping a dangerous scheme that could rewrite American history!
Amidst gunfights, wild chases, lively parties, and surprising partnerships with characters like Billy the Kid and Calamity Jane, this odd couple will realize their greatest struggle isn’t saving the country – it’s learning to work together! Get ready for a thrilling ride where a quick-shooting hero must confront his past and uncover the truth behind his legendary reputation.
The new Lucky Luke blends the classic comic’s playful, satirical style with a compelling story about the character confronting his past and the impact he’s had. This fresh take aims to please longtime fans of the Western hero and introduce the character to a new audience.
