It looks like we’re finally getting a glimpse of what the Scorpion villain will look like in the upcoming Spider-Man: Brand New Day movie, as revealed by the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
A Brazilian store called Piticas has given fans a first look at Michael Mando returning as Scorpion in the upcoming Spider-Man: Brand New Day. The promotional banner, advertising official Marvel merchandise, also shows Mark Ruffalo as the Hulk, along with Spider-Man villains Tarantula and Boomerang. You can see it below.
In August 2025, The Hollywood Reporter announced that Michael Mando would return to his role from Spider-Man: Homecoming. Photos taken on set in October 2025 showed Mando as his character, Mac Gargan, dressed in prison clothes and exiting a helicopter.
As of today, Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios haven’t officially revealed who will play Boomerang and Tarantula. While these characters haven’t been confirmed as part of the Spider-Man: Brand New Day cast, they might appear as unexpected additions to the story.
As a huge Spider-Man fan, I’ve been following the rumors about Tarantula and Boomerang potentially appearing in the next movie, which would be their first time in live-action! But it’s important to remember that just because they might be in it doesn’t automatically make them the big bad guys. We still have no idea who the main villain will be, so it’s all speculation for now.
With Tom Holland’s new movie coming out in less than six months, it’s expected that we’ll see more promotional details released. This also makes fans wonder when the first trailer for Spider-Man: Brand New Day will be shown.
Once the finished footage is released, we might finally see Mando wearing his Scorpion costume. There are still many unanswered questions about Spider-Man: Brand New Day, like who Sadie Sink’s character is and how Punisher and Hulk will fit into the story.
I’m excited to see Marvel finally bring Tombstone to live-action in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, and it’s cool they’ve cast Marvin Jones III. What some might not know is this isn’t Jones’ first rodeo with the character – he actually voiced Tombstone in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse! It’s great to see him expand his portrayal of Lonnie Lincoln.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day swings into theaters on July 31.
