Ahead of an upcoming Marvel team-up event, two Spider-Man characters – including Mary Jane Watson – have gotten updated looks.

I’m so hyped for the new Marvel event this summer, Queen in Black! It’s going to be huge, building on the awesome stuff Al Ewing and Carlos Gómez have been doing with Venom and the new Knull series. Basically, Hela is going to try and take over everything in the Marvel Universe – talk about a power grab!

What does Spider-Man’s Mary Jane Watson’s new costume look like?

Marvel recently revealed the artwork for the upcoming issues of Knull #5 (releasing in May) and Venom #259 (coming in June). The covers feature Knull and Mary Jane Watson, who has become bonded with the Venom symbiote in the comics.

Following the events of Death Spiral, Peter Parker and Mary Jane Watson finally have an honest conversation. However, when Venom and Spider-Man face off, old conflicts resurface! With her secret revealed, MJ fully accepts her symbiote powers, which dramatically changes her relationship with Venom.

According to Ewing, Mary Jane’s new costume symbolizes a significant change for her. Following her toughest experience as Venom yet, it shows she’s re-evaluated her connection with the symbiote, which is fortunate considering a larger danger is approaching.

The final issue of Knull #5 sees Knull triumph over the Lightforce Dimension, leaving a lasting, explosive impact! However, a foe he previously defeated returns, now more powerful than ever. Meanwhile, Hela, the new Queen in Black, is starting to rethink her plans to stop Knull – is it time for a new approach? This issue is the epic conclusion to the series! Will anyone survive? Who will emerge victorious, and who will claim the Light?

The fifth issue of Knull, by writers Al Ewing and Tom Waltz with art by Juanan Ramírez and a cover by Ryan Stegman, will be released on May 13, 2026. Venom #259, from writer Al Ewing and artist Gómez, hits shelves on June 17, 2026.
