MobLand Season 2 Set Photos Reveal First Look At Tom Hardy’s Return In Hit Crime Thr

Ever since the popular show MobLand ended its first season last year, fans have been hoping for updates. Now, some behind-the-scenes photos have surfaced, giving us a sneak peek at what to expect in season 2.

Viewers don’t have to wait years for new seasons of MobLand like they do with some streaming shows. Paramount+ approved the show in June 2025 and plans to release it in 2026. Tom Hardy will return as Harry Da Souza in the second season, playing a tough, charismatic, and dangerous fixer for a criminal family. Da Souza always solves the Harrigans’ problems, but his allegiance to them might be changing.

Photos from the set of MobLand season 2 surfaced in December, showing Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren as Conrad and Maeve Harrigan. Now, fans finally have a look at Hardy, as photos shared by Just Jared show him wearing Da Souza’s signature brown leather jacket alongside co-star Joanne Froggatt while filming in London.

Hardy and Froggatt are bundled up for a cold walk beside the River Thames. Hardy looks grumpy, with his hands tucked into his jacket pockets. Froggatt, wearing a stylish red turtleneck, is positioned both in front of and behind him. She plays the role of Jan Da Souza, the wife of the character Harry, and they have a daughter named Gina, who is played by Teddie Allen.

Jan is concerned that Harry’s connection to the Harrigan family puts their family in danger, as the Harrigans are involved in criminal activity. This worry remains at the end of the first season and is expected to continue in the second. Harry is caught between protecting his loved ones and the dangerous criminal world he’s become involved with.

As a big fan of crime dramas, I was really excited to hear about MobLand – and it didn’t disappoint! It absolutely smashed streaming records when it dropped on Paramount+ last March. Everyone’s been talking about Liev Schreiber’s performance as Da Souza; he just brings so much grit and charm to the role, and I think that’s a huge reason why it’s got a solid 75% score on Rotten Tomatoes. It’s interesting to know it actually started as a spin-off of Ray Donovan, but quickly became its own unique thing – MobLand really found its own identity.

This isn’t the first time Hardy has appeared in a crime drama, though. He previously played Alfie Solomons, the memorable villain in season two of the popular show Peaky Blinders. While Solomons is unpredictable and ruthless, Da Souza is a more troubled and morally complex character. Despite these differences, both performances earned Hardy high praise for his captivating presence.

Look, Tom Hardy is the kind of actor who really goes for it, always picking projects where he can truly express himself. I’m a huge fan, and honestly, I’m dying to know what wild direction he’s going to take his character in season two of MobLand. He’s unpredictable, and I’m bracing myself for something totally unexpected!

MobLand will return to Paramount+ in 2026.
