Brad Pitt is reprising his role as Cliff Booth in a new movie that’s a follow-up to Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. The trailer just dropped! Set about eight years after the original film, The Adventures of Cliff Booth continues the story of the stuntman and his close call with the Manson Family, alongside Leonardo DiCaprio’s character, Rick Dalton. While there’s no official release date yet, it will first be shown in theaters before becoming available for streaming.
The 60-second trailer for the new film, which debuted during Super Bowl LX just like Steven Spielberg’s Disclosure Day, starts with Elizabeth Debicki (known from Tenet) asking Cliff about a past incident involving “hippy intruders” and Rick. Cliff, calm as usual, replies that he doesn’t have many skills, but he knows when to stay out of a compelling story. The trailer then quickly shows glimpses of exciting scenes: nightclubs filled with shady activity, menacing figures, a fast-paced race, and the iconic Sunset Strip. However, exactly what trouble Cliff is in this time around remains a secret.
Even though Leonardo DiCaprio says he won’t be making a cameo, many believe director David Fincher’s involvement likely drew him in, and they’re keeping any surprise appearance under wraps until the film comes out. While we wait to see if DiCaprio has been truthful, here’s the rest of the cast for The Adventures of Cliff Booth: Timothy Olyphant (returning as James Stacy from Once Upon a Time in Hollywood), Holt McCallany (known from Mindhunter), Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (Wonder Man), Carla Gugino (Watchmen), Scott Caan (Hawaii Five-0), Peter Weller (RoboCop), along with Corey Fogelmanis, JB Tadena, Karren Karagulian, Barry Livingston, and Lauren Glazier.
Where Did We Leave Cliff Booth in ‘OUATIH’?
Okay, so at the very end of Tarantino’s awesome, late-60s-inspired Once Upon a Time in Hollywood – seriously, it’s a great movie, and most people agree – things get crazy at Rick Dalton’s place with the Manson Family. Cliff Booth, who’s been enjoying a… let’s say relaxed cigarette, gets stabbed during the attack. The last shot of him is pretty memorable: he’s being taken away in an ambulance, still tripping and cheerfully saying, “and away we go” – a line he’d said earlier, now repeating as he’s clearly out of it. It’s a funny, slightly surreal way to end his arc.
