The Original Jack Reacher Is Killing It On Paramount+

The viewership of the original Jack Reacher film has skyrocketed on Paramount+.

Originally released in 2012, the film Jack Reacher is still incredibly popular. More than a decade later, it’s currently a hit on Paramount+, bringing the exciting story of the former military investigator back to audiences.

As of today, the movie Jack Reacher is number nine on Paramount+’s list of most popular films. It’s currently behind other big hits like The Running Man, Regretting You, Mission: Impossible, and Top Gun: Maverick.

The first Jack Reacher movie did well in theaters, earning over $218 million globally on a $60 million budget and receiving mostly positive reviews. However, some book fans were disappointed with Tom Cruise in the lead role, feeling he didn’t match their vision of the character.

The movie Jack Reacher is an action thriller directed by Christopher McQuarrie and based on Lee Child’s book One Shot. Tom Cruise stars as a former Army investigator who finds himself involved in a murder case when a sniper is accused of killing five people at random.

I have to say, the central suspect in this thriller is a master of denial – absolutely refusing to confess to anything and insisting on his innocence. The really strange part? He tells the police to reach out to this guy named Reacher. And the cast is phenomenal – we’ve got Rosamund Pike as Helen Rodin, the always-reliable Richard Jenkins as Alex Rodin, and even Werner Herzog bringing his unique intensity as Zek Chelovek. David Oyelowo, Robert Duvall, and Jai Courtney round out a seriously impressive ensemble, adding layers of intrigue to the whole thing.

Following the success of the first Jack Reacher movie, a sequel titled Jack Reacher: Never Go Back was released. Unfortunately, it didn’t do as well in theaters and wasn’t nearly as popular as the original. It received a low score of 37% on Rotten Tomatoes, with critics finding it predictable and lacking originality. Many felt the sequel didn’t add anything fresh or exciting to the series.
