Okay, so Vincent D’Onofrio, who plays Kingpin, just dropped a little hint about Season 2! Honestly, he wasn’t exactly praising Season 1 while doing it – seemed like he was subtly saying they’re going to do things much better this time around. It’s got me even more hyped!
At Rhode Island Comic Con, Ray Stevenson (as reported by CinemaBlend) described season 2 as a significant improvement over the first. He promised fans a very intense season, calling the storyline “brutal” and noting that he personally found it more exciting to film than season 1.
Vincent D’Onofrio made his comments immediately after Wilson Bethel, who plays Bullseye, hinted about season 2. Bethel, along with Deborah Ann Woll, had mentioned that the first season didn’t fully capture the feel of the previous Netflix series. D’Onofrio, who plays Kingpin, agreed and promised season 2 will be a more accurate representation.
Looking back, getting to Season Two felt like a real victory. Honestly, Season One was… cobbled together. We’d already filmed a lot of it, and we had to work with what we had, even if it wasn’t ideal. We did manage to re-shoot around 60% of it, but some things just couldn’t be changed. It wasn’t until Season Two that we finally got to make the show we’d always envisioned – it was a dream come true!
Disney+’s first season of Daredevil: Born Again was popular with viewers, but its production wasn’t without challenges. The original showrunners, Chris Ord and Matt Corman, were replaced in 2023. Disney wanted the series to feel more like the darker, more intense Daredevil shows previously on Netflix, so they brought in Dario Scardapane to lead the creative direction as the new showrunner.
After significant additional filming, the show was well-received by both viewers and critics. It currently has an 87% approval rating from critics on Rotten Tomatoes, and audiences gave it a 78% score. The first season also attracted 7.5 million viewers worldwide in its first five days, making it Disney+’s most popular series premiere of 2025.
The new trailer for Daredevil: Born Again season 2 hints at a much grimmer storyline and features the return of Krysten Ritter as Jessica Jones. The trailer also marks the first appearance of Matthew Lillard in the series, playing the enigmatic Mr. Charles. This season looks like it could be even better than the first.
Charlie Cox is back as Matt Murdock for the new season, alongside Deborah Woll as Karen Page and Elden Henson returning as Foggy Nelson. Vincent D’Onofrio will reprise his role as Kingpin, and promises a more intense and violent performance. While many details about Daredevil: Born Again season 2 are still unknown, D’Onofrio hints that the upcoming episodes will be thrilling.
