Clover Press and Marvel Comics have been celebrating outstanding artists by publishing books showcasing their work. The most recent artist they’ve highlighted is Mike Del Mundo, who has made a name for himself with his contributions to X-Men and Thor comics. Other artists who have received this recognition include David Mack, Michael Turner, Mike Allred, and many more.
Starting in 2010, Mike Del Mundo gained recognition at Marvel, particularly for his cover art on X-Men: Legacy in 2012. Fans quickly took notice and appreciated his intricate design ideas and vibrant color palette. Del Mundo’s work was also recognized by the industry with numerous Harvey and Eisner Award nominations. He received the 2013 Joe Shuster Award for Best Cover Artist.

Marvel Art of Mike Del Mundo Kickstarter explained
Just like previous Clover Press projects, the Marvel Art of Mike Del Mundo is backed by both a Kickstarter campaign and a BackerKit initiative. This allows fans to secure extra perks such as 11″ x 17″ prints, posters, stickers, puzzles, signed books, and original sketches. Additionally, there will be a 5″ X 7.5″ softcover sketchbook showcasing the creative journey behind several pieces featured in the main book.
Del Mundo reminisced, “I’ve always been a Marvel fan at heart.” He vividly remembered the excitement he felt when he secured his first job with Marvel, rushing to the store on that unforgettable Wednesday to see it displayed. That moment was incredibly significant to him. Flash forward 15 years, and I’m still here, pursuing my passion, with a collection of my work soon to be published in a stunning hardcover. It feels almost unbelievable. If only 12-year-old me could see this now, he would undoubtedly perform backflips with joy!
