A TV series based on the video game Cyberpunk 2077 is currently being developed, and sci-fi enthusiasts won’t want to miss it. The last few years have brought a surge of excellent sci-fi shows to streaming services, including hits like Foundation, Severance, Silo, Fallout, 3 Body Problem, and Dune: Prophecy.
I’ve been so impressed with how well video games are being adapted for TV now that we’re in the streaming era! HBO’s The Last of Us was a huge hit, and it’s awesome to see other games like Arcane, Fallout, and The Witcher getting the same treatment. There’s so much more coming too – I’m really excited about the upcoming shows based on Tomb Raider, God of War, Life is Strange, and Assassin’s Creed. Honestly, I’m counting down the days until the live-action Cyberpunk 2077 series comes out – it looks like a must-watch!

News broke on October 3, 2025, that a live-action Cyberpunk 2077 series was being made. CD Projekt RED announced (according to The Hollywood Reporter) that the show is being created closely with the original game’s development team. This is a promising sign, suggesting the adaptation will maintain the high quality and immersive experience fans expect from the Cyberpunk world.
A key part of this project is the studio’s partnership with Anonymous Content, the team behind the upcoming live-action Cyberpunk 2077 series. They have a strong track record, with Garrett Kemble, Head of TV at Anonymous Content Studios, having previously overseen shows like Mr. Robot. Ryan Schwartz, Vice President of Film & TV, is also involved – he’s currently working on the Neuromancer adaptation for Apple TV.
The Anonymous Content team includes David Levine, formerly a top executive at HBO, where he helped oversee popular shows like True Detective, Game of Thrones, and Westworld. With this experienced team and the exciting potential of the Cyberpunk 2077 world, the upcoming live-action series seems to be in good hands.
Another Cyberpunk 2077 Adaptation Shows The Potential The Sci-Fi Series Has
The success of Netflix’s Cyberpunk: Edgerunners anime shows why the new Cyberpunk 2077 series has a good chance of being popular. Edgerunners wasn’t just watched by a lot of people—critics loved it too, and a second season is already being made.
The first season of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners has received overwhelmingly positive reviews, earning a perfect 100% score from critics on Rotten Tomatoes and a 95% audience score. The show is praised for its moving story, well-developed characters, exciting action sequences, and stunning, visually rich presentation—making it a standout example of cyberpunk storytelling. If the upcoming live-action Cyberpunk 2077 series maintains this level of quality, it’s sure to be a hit.
