The current phase of Marvel movies, known as the Multiverse Saga, has introduced several unanswered questions. Hopefully, the upcoming movie Avengers: Doomsday will provide some answers, including what happened to the town of Westview after the events of WandaVision – details that were recently revealed by accident. The Marvel universe began expanding to include TV shows with WandaVision, making this already large, connected world even bigger.

After the events of Avengers: Endgame, WandaVision brought back Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) and Vision (Paul Bettany), even though Vision had died in Infinity War. While talking to Jake Hamilton on the Jake’s Takes podcast, McKellen – who is returning as Magneto – casually let slip that his character destroys New Jersey in the film. He’s already appeared in a teaser for the movie, adding to the excitement (and now, the leaked information).

McKellen stopped talking there, seemingly aware he’d already shared too much. While we don’t know any specifics about New Jersey’s fate in Avengers: Doomsday, this could hint at what happened to Westview after the events of WandaVision.

WandaVision’s Westview Is Located In New Jersey

The town of Westview first appeared in the show WandaVision, and was established as being located in New Jersey. Viewers also learned that Vision had purchased land there with the intention of building a home for him and Wanda. Following Vision’s death, Wanda, overwhelmed by grief, went to the property and, without realizing it, unleashed chaos magic, which created the reality-altering Hex.

Following the collapse of the Hex, the people of Westview tried to return to their everyday routines, avoiding any mention of the strange events or Wanda. If Magneto were to destroy New Jersey in Avengers: Doomsday – for any reason – Westview would also be wiped out, adding another tragedy to the town’s already difficult history.

Will Magneto And Wanda Meet In Avengers: Doomsday?

The upcoming movie Avengers: Doomsday boasts a huge cast, bringing together heroes from across the Marvel Cinematic Universe, characters from the former Fox Marvel films (including the X-Men), and even some returning favorites like Chris Evans as Captain America. While almost anyone could reappear in Doomsday, it looks like Elizabeth Olsen’s Wanda Maximoff won’t be one of them.

Wanda Maximoff died in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, and that death has been officially confirmed. Elizabeth Olsen, the actress who plays Wanda, hasn’t been announced to return for any future Marvel projects, and there have been no hints about her character coming back. Despite this, a different version of Wanda – a variant – might appear in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday film, potentially alongside Magneto and other characters.
