‘A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms’ & ‘Industry’ Land Early Episode Releases Due to Super Bowl

This Sunday, February 8th, NBC will broadcast the Super Bowl, featuring the New England Patriots versus the Seattle Seahawks from Levi’s Stadium in California. This major event, a tradition since 1967 and typically watched by over 120 million people, is causing HBO to adjust its programming schedule. With so many viewers focused on the 6:30 PM ET kickoff, HBO anticipates a much smaller audience for its regular series that evening and is making changes accordingly.

According to Deadline, HBO has rescheduled two episodes to air on Friday, February 6th to avoid competing with the Super Bowl. This includes the fourth episode of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, the Game of Thrones spin-off, and the fifth episode of Industry Season 4. HBO is likely hoping to maintain the high viewership numbers that A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms has already been receiving.

The new series, featuring actors Peter Claffey and Dexter Sol Ansell, returns to the world of Westeros with the story of an unlikely friendship. It follows Ser Duncan ‘Dunk’ the Tall, a young knight, and his apprentice, Aegon ‘Egg’ Targaryen, as they compete in their first jousting tournament and encounter various noble families. The first season is based on George R.R. Martin’s novella, The Hedge Knight, with plans for future seasons to adapt The Sworn Sword and The Mystery Knight. Excitingly, Martin has also shared outlines for twelve more stories about Dunk and Egg, offering plenty of material for potential future episodes.

Super Bowl Adverts Can Still Produce Gold

Super Bowl ads aren’t as impactful as they once were, with more people streaming shows instead of watching traditional TV. However, big-name actors are still willing to participate if the ad is creative and stands out. For instance, Adrien Brody, who has won two Oscars, will be starring in a TurboTax commercial during the Super Bowl, bringing his dramatic talent to a funny role.

TurboTax had a really clever idea! The whole tax season is usually so stressful and complicated, and I, as an actor who loves drama, thought it would be funny to explore that. But TurboTax actually makes doing taxes simple and easy, which completely takes away the drama – and that’s what makes the concept so relatable and hilarious.

It’s really enjoyable to playfully challenge the idea that I’m a serious, intense actor, and it feels freeing. People often assume that actors who do a lot of dramatic work don’t have a sense of humor, but I love comedy and I’m happy to poke fun at myself.

While Adrien Brody is well-known for films like The Pianist, The Brutalist, and The Village, he’s also collaborated with directors Wes Anderson and Rian Johnson on several projects. Now, he’s leveraging his established career to appear in a Super Bowl commercial.
