The wait for a trailer for Spider-Man: Brand New Day seems to be getting longer. Fans are anxious to see anything about the movie, especially since four teasers were released for Avengers: Doomsday, which isn’t out until December. Spider-Man: Brand New Day is scheduled to release much sooner, on July 31st. Although an official trailer hasn’t been released, Sony had to respond after footage from Spider-Man 4, featuring stars Tom Holland and Sadie Sink, appeared online.
A recent Deadline report revealed a surprise: Marvel Studios won’t be advertising during the 2026 Super Bowl. This is unusual for the event, which typically features numerous trailers. Neither the upcoming Spider-Man: Brand New Day in July, nor Avengers: Doomsday in December, will have a presence at the game.
The studio has consistently featured trailers and footage at the Super Bowl since 2020, showcasing films like Black Widow, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Moon Knight, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, Deadpool & Wolverine, and Thunderbolts. That’s why it’s unusual they won’t be there in 2026.
Even though Marvel Studios is helping to make Spider-Man 4, Sony Pictures will be releasing the movie, not Disney like most Marvel Cinematic Universe films. Sony often skips advertising during the Super Bowl because of the high cost – this year, a 30-second ad cost a record $10 million, up from around $7.5 to $8 million last year.
When Will Spider-Man: Brand New Day’s First Trailer Release?

Similar to how much anticipation and secrecy surrounded Spider-Man: No Way Home, the upcoming Spider-Man: Brand New Day sequel is also facing leaks and a desire to keep details under wraps. The first teaser for No Way Home appeared online about 115 days before the movie came out in mid-December 2021. If the new sequel follows that same timeline, we could see its first trailer in early April.
But there is reason to hope it could arrive sooner…
Recently, movie and streaming studios that usually don’t advertise during the Super Bowl – like Warner Bros. and Apple – have started releasing their trailers and ads in the days before the game, just like other companies do.
In January, Alex Perez mentioned that Sony had shown some progress regarding the Brand New Day trailer, suggesting its release could happen very soon. This means we might still see the first official trailer in February, possibly even within the next few days or weeks.
Fans will likely be disappointed to learn that Avengers: Doomsday probably won’t appear, meaning we’ll have to wait even longer to see Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom for the first time. It seems Marvel Studios is keeping details under wraps, or this film simply isn’t ready to be revealed yet.
After the recent release of four trailers for Doomsday, Marvel Studios might be holding off on a full marketing push for now. Disney probably wants to have trailers for Avengers 5 shown alongside The Mandalorian & Grogu in May and Spider-Man 4 in July, meaning more promotional material is still coming.
