Ridley Scott’s Flawless 35-Year-Old Crime Thriller That’s Required Viewing Is Heading to a New Streaming Home

The classic film Thelma & Louise is now available to watch for free on Tubi.

As of February 1st, Tubi added the classic Ridley Scott film, Thelma & Louise, to its streaming library. It joins other popular movies like Beverly Hills Cop with Eddie Murphy and Die Hard starring Bruce Willis. Released in 1991, Thelma & Louise features Geena Davis and Susan Sarandon as two friends whose road trip takes an unexpected and complicated turn. While on the run from the law, they meet a variety of interesting characters, including a young thief played by Brad Pitt.

When Thelma & Louise came out in the 1990s, it was a major success. Made with a budget of $16 million, the film earned over $45 million around the world and remains popular today. Even decades later, it has a high rating on Rotten Tomatoes – 87% from critics and 82% from over 100,000 viewers – proving its lasting appeal.

In 2021, the original screenwriter, Callie Khouri, teamed up with Halley Feiffer and singer Neko Case to create the adaptation. However, there haven’t been many updates on the musical’s progress or when it might open.

The project gained new momentum in January 2023 with reports that Amanda Seyfried and Evan Rachel Wood were involved. However, there have been no official announcements yet about who will star in the production or when it will be released.
