Sam Raimi, the director of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, returns with a new horror film called Send Help. Starring Rachel McAdams and Dylan O’Brien (The Maze Runner), the movie centers on a rude corporate executive who survives a plane crash with an employee he recently mistreated. He quickly realizes he made a big mistake being so unkind.
I’m so excited! Sam Raimi’s new movie just came out yesterday, and it’s already matching the best audience score he’s ever gotten on Rotten Tomatoes – 89%, just like Evil Dead II! That’s a huge jump from the 82% Spider-Man 2 got, which a lot of people consider the best superhero sequel ever, especially with that amazing fight between Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man and Doctor Octopus. It’s funny, the original Spider-Man only has 67%, and Spider-Man 3… well, let’s just say it didn’t do so well, with only 51%.
I’m absolutely loving Send Help, and it seems like everyone else is too! Critics are going wild – it’s currently at 93% on Rotten Tomatoes, which is amazing news for the director. I’ve always been a fan of their work, especially films like A Simple Plan, Drag Me to Hell, and Darkman. In a review on MovieWeb, Mark Keizer really praised the performances from Rachel McAdams and O’Brien, calling the movie a clever and captivating story that kept him guessing until the very surprising ending. It’s a fantastic film!
‘Send Help’ Director Warned Fans It Would Be “Outrageous”

Director Sam Raimi recently shared details about his new film with Empire Magazine, promising a particularly wild and chaotic experience – even for him. Raimi is well-known for his over-the-top visuals and a playful, often absurd, style.
It’s a real clash of personalities and ideas. The story flips traditional power dynamics on their head, and when the screenwriters, Damian Shannon and Mark Swift, first presented it, I was shocked – and amused. Even for someone who makes over-the-top horror movies, it was incredibly bold.
For most of the film, the shocking violence stems from the transformation of Linda Liddle, a character who goes from a quiet office worker to a savage figure reminiscent of Lord of the Flies. Trailers and promotional images for Send Help clearly show she’s driven by revenge and enjoys it. Given director Sam Raimi’s reputation for intense and gruesome horror, it’s no surprise that Send Help doesn’t shy away from blood and violence. Even after decades, Raimi remains a master of the horror genre he helped create in the early 1980s.
