Apple TV has announced the return date for its British crime thriller, Criminal Record, starring Peter Capaldi and Cush Jumbo. While the first season was praised by critics, it didn’t receive widespread attention and may have been forgotten by some after two years. Now, fans and newcomers alike have a date to look forward to for the premiere of the highly anticipated second season of the detective drama.
The second season of Criminal Record premieres globally on Apple TV+ on April 22nd. New episodes will be released weekly until June 10th, when the season finale airs. Peter Capaldi and Cush Jumbo return as detectives Daniel Hegarty and June Lenker, respectively. Their characters, who frequently clash, left season one with unresolved tension after Lenker accused Hegarty of tampering with evidence. Season two will see them reluctantly working together on a brand new case.
After a young man is stabbed at a political rally, two rival police officers, June Lenker and Daniel Hegarty, must work together. Their investigation begins as a murder hunt, but quickly becomes a dangerous undercover mission to stop a far-right group from bombing London.
