Another Blue Bloods Star Confirmed To Appear In Boston Blue Spinoff

More familiar faces from Blue Bloods will be joining the Boston Blue spinoff in the coming months. While Donny Wahlberg reprises his role as Danny Reagan, the show frequently brings back characters from the original series. Marisa Ramirez, as Maria Baez, and Bridget Moynahan as Erin Reagan, are also regular returning cast members.

TVLine reports that Len Cariou, who plays Henry Reagan on Blue Bloods, will guest star in an upcoming episode of the Boston Blue spinoff. Mark Wahlberg accidentally revealed the news during a TV Critics Association panel, and it’s now confirmed that Cariou will appear in episode 13, which is scheduled to air on April 3, 2026.

Henry used to be the police commissioner in New York City, and he served before his son, Frank (played by Tom Selleck). Now retired, he frequently shares his experience and offers guidance to Frank and his grandchildren as they work in law enforcement. He has a particularly close bond with Danny, and an upcoming episode of Boston Blue has the potential to further explore their relationship now that Blue Bloods has concluded.

Henry will be back a few weeks after Danny unexpectedly decided to fully commit to the Boston Police Department mid-season. This decision was prompted by Danny’s half-brother, Jonah, shooting and killing a mobster named Flaherty while not on duty. Danny wants to investigate the case himself, both to protect Jonah and to uncover the full story.

Besides Henry, other familiar faces from Boston Blue will be returning. Ramirez will reprise her role as Maria in episode 15, which airs on April 17th, and Moynahan will return as Erin in episode 17, airing May 1st. Given their past relationships with Danny, both actresses are expected to react to his choices in unique ways.

We don’t know yet if more guest stars will show up in future episodes of the show. So far, only three have been confirmed for the first season, which will have 20 episodes. But CBS has already renewed the show for a second season, so this might not be the last we see of Henry, and there’s still a chance for other guest appearances.

Although we don’t know what will happen in the next episode, Danny’s choice to stay in Boston long-term will probably affect his relationship with Henry. How Henry reacts could lead to them becoming closer, or create distance. It’s still unclear how Henry will respond.

Boston Blue returns Friday, February 27, 2026 on CBS.
