Despite the continued success of James Cameron’s Avatar: Fire and Ash in theaters, the release of his next film is being affected by a delay with Billie Eilish’s concert film, Hit Me Hard and Soft.
James Cameron announced on Instagram that the new concert film about Billie Eilish, Billie Eilish: Hit Me Hard and Soft – The Tour (Live in 3D), will now come out on May 8, 2026. Originally, the film – which Cameron is directing alongside Billie Eilish – was scheduled to be released on March 20.
I’ve heard from Cameron that the movie’s release is being pushed back a couple of months so the team can really perfect the editing. They’re also working hard to make the new 3D technology even better, and they’re adding in some cool behind-the-scenes stuff for us fans. It’s a little disappointing to wait, but I’m glad they’re taking the time to make it the best it can be!
