Natasha Lyonne, known for her role in Poker Face, is currently experiencing a surge in popularity thanks to her hit series on Peacock. Building on her earlier success with Orange is the New Black on Netflix, she’s also recently appeared in the critically acclaimed Russian Doll and the new Marvel movie, The Fantastic Four: First Steps.
Okay, so this came as a surprise. On January 23rd, 2026, Natasha Lyonne publicly shared that she’d experienced a relapse via a post on X, hinting at more details to come. She followed up a few hours later, emphasizing that recovery is a continuous journey and thanking her fans for their incredible support. It’s clear she’s determined to get back to work on her upcoming passion project, a film called Bambo, which she’s writing and directing. More than anything, she used this as an opportunity to encourage everyone to keep fighting and never give up – a really powerful and honest moment, honestly.
Healing takes a lifetime, and if you’re going through a tough time, please know you’re not by yourself. I’m thankful for the support I receive and determined to keep moving forward, especially for my little one. Be true to yourselves – holding onto secrets only hurts. If you haven’t heard it today, I love you. No matter how low things get, remember your experiences can help others. Keep pushing forward, everyone – don’t give up before something amazing happens. Fill your thoughts with positivity and ignore the negativity around you. Focus on what truly matters.
Natasha Lyonne’s Continuing Journey in Movies & TV

Peacock
Lyonne is known for being open about her life, and has often talked about her experiences with rehab and getting better. In a 2017 interview with The Guardian, she said she was comfortable sharing this part of her story, wanting to give her fans a look at her journey and how she stays on a positive path.
Currently, actress Natasha Lyonne is developing her second directorial project, a film called Bambo, following her earlier, unreleased movie Uncanny Valley. The film is expected to star Joey King, known for A Family Affair, and will center around Sophie “Bamb” Braverman, whose father, a Brooklyn boxing promoter, takes her on a wild journey filled with illegal activities, fast cars, and emotional challenges. Filming is planned to begin this summer, though a release date hasn’t been announced.
Natasha Lyonne will likely finish her role as the star of Poker Face now that Peacock has canceled the show after two seasons. Although the producers are trying to find a new home for Season 3, it’s expected that Peter Dinklage, known for Game of Thrones, would take over as the lead. Lyonne wouldn’t be completely involved, though – she’s still anticipated to be an executive producer if the show is revived.
In July 2025, actress Lyonne joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe, playing a new character named Rachel Rozman in the film The Fantastic Four: First Steps. Rachel, inspired by the wife of Marvel legend Jack Kirby, was a teacher and worked at a synagogue in the same neighborhood as Ben Grimm, and the two developed a romantic connection. However, with the Fantastic Four set to move to a different universe (Earth-616) in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday movie, it’s currently unclear what role Lyonne will play in future Marvel films.
