As a huge Marvel fan, I just saw some exciting news about Avengers: Doomsday! Apparently, we’re getting a glimpse of Bucky Barnes’ new gear in the movie. It’s still a ways off – Doomsday is slated to hit theaters on December 18, 2026 – but Marvel’s already building the hype. And get this: Avengers: Secret Wars is already scheduled for December 17, 2027! It feels like a long wait, but knowing there’s more to come definitely helps!
What’s Bucky’s potential power upgrade in Avengers: Doomsday?
According to sources, Bucky Barnes will likely receive a new, Wakanda-made weapon in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday film. This upgrade is expected to be similar to the triangular arm weapon Captain America used in Avengers: Infinity War, continuing a pattern established in previous movies where Wakanda provided Bucky with enhanced technology.
As a huge fan, I was so excited to see Bucky back in Thunderbolts last year! It was awesome seeing him work with Yelena, John Walker (U.S. Agent), Ghost, and Red Guardian. The way the movie ended, with them basically becoming the government’s new Avengers team, really sets up a cool potential showdown with Sam Wilson’s Avengers. I can’t wait to see what happens next!
Joe and Anthony Russo directed ‘Avengers: Doomsday,’ with a screenplay by Stephen McFeely. The film brings back familiar faces like Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, and Chris Evans as Steve Rogers. Joining them is a large cast including Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, Paul Rudd, and many other stars like Sebastian Stan, Tom Hiddleston, Florence Pugh, and Letitia Wright.
The next Avengers movie will bring back familiar faces from the X-Men, including Patrick Stewart as Professor X, Ian McKellen as Magneto, Kelsey Grammer as Beast, Alan Cumming as Nightcrawler, Rebecca Romijn as Mystique, James Marsden as Cyclops, and Channing Tatum as Gambit. There’s also talk that characters like Doctor Strange, Deadpool, Peggy Carter, and Spider-Man could make an appearance in the film.
