Fans Think Zack Snyder Is Hinting At Another Batman Movie (And I Think He Knows What He’s Doing Here)

Superhero movies are still incredibly popular, and recently James Gunn introduced a new shared universe for DC Comics characters. We’ve already seen the first films and shows from his initial plan, called ‘Gods and Monsters.’ Meanwhile, director Zack Snyder has been sharing images from the previous DC movie universe (available on HBO Max), and his latest post has fans wondering if he’s working on another Batman film. I believe he’s intentionally building excitement around the possibility.

Following the release The Snyder Cut, some fans began campaigning for Warner Bros. to restore the SnyderVerse, including his two planned Justice League sequels. There’s been no indication this is happening (especially since the new DCU was formed), but his latest post on Instagram has fans holding out hope for him to helm an upcoming DC movie about Gotham’s Protector. Zack Snyder recently shared a photo on Instagram that sparked excitement among his followers. While the image featured pottery, fans quickly noticed a copy of Frank Miller’s iconic comic book, Batman: The Dark Knight Returns, in the background. This popular four-issue story has led many to speculate that Snyder might be hinting at plans to create a live-action film adaptation.

Viewers who followed the DC films in order witnessed Zack Snyder launch the DC Extended Universe with movies like Man of Steel and Batman v Superman. He then brought a team of heroes together in Justice League. These films featured Ben Affleck as a powerful and world-weary Batman, and many fans are disappointed that he never got his own dedicated movie.

Since joining Instagram, Zack Snyder has been steadily sharing photos from his time working on DC films, and his follower count has grown rapidly. I suspect he intentionally included a copy of The Dark Knight Returns in one photo to attract more likes and comments, boosting his profile’s visibility. That said, if he were given the chance to direct another DC movie, I’d be thrilled!
