Sasha Calle, who played Supergirl, recently talked about her part in Andy Muschietti’s The Flash, even though the movie was released three years ago. The Flash was one of the final big films in the DC Extended Universe – a series of movies featuring characters like Batman, Wonder Woman, Superman, and Aquaman – and it finally focused on Ezra Miller’s Flash. The story involved time travel to save his mother, but it led to unexpected consequences. Calle’s Supergirl appeared mid-movie, escaping a Siberian prison to fight alongside the heroes against General Zod. Unfortunately, Zod won the battle, ending Supergirl’s role in the film.
Before James Gunn and Peter Safran rebooted the DC Universe and cast Milly Alcock (from House of the Dragon) as Supergirl, actress America Ferrera made history as the first Latina to play the character, signing a deal for multiple films. Even though those plans are now on hold, she recently told Entertainment Weekly she’s “so grateful” for the opportunity.
Someone reminded me today about the video of Andy Muschietti calling to offer me the role. I still remember how incredibly surreal it felt. It’s led to amazing opportunities, like working with Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, Teyana Taylor, Catalina Sandino Moreno, Steven Yeun, and Kyle Chandler. I’m deeply grateful it’s brought me into a world where I can create, and I’ve absolutely loved the experience.
She’s talking about her role as Desiree ‘Desi’ Molina in The Rip, a new police thriller now streaming on Netflix. The show is notable for its innovative approach to paying cast and crew. When asked if she’d consider returning as her DC superhero, Calle said she’s open to the possibility if she receives an offer.
When Does Milly Alcock’s ‘Supergirl’ Movie Come Out?

Warner Bros.
Following her debut in James Gunn’s Superman last summer, Milly Alcock returns as Supergirl to lead her own story, launching June 26th. The film follows her 23rd birthday celebration – a galactic adventure with her dog, Krypto, whom she found again at the end of Superman. During her travels, Supergirl meets Ruthye Marye Knoll (Eve Ridley), who asks for her help in getting revenge on Krem of the Yellow Hills (Matthias Schoenaerts), the space pirate responsible for her father’s death.

The new Supergirl series, starring Milly Alcock, will offer a unique take on the character, differing from past versions. During an interview with MovieWeb, Alcock explained that this Supergirl is inspired by the personalities of Iron Man and Star-Lord.
Supergirl offers a really important message for young women: it’s okay to be imperfect. We’re often told, especially women, that we need to be perfect in all areas of our lives. But Kara embraces her flaws, and that’s what makes her character so relatable and inspiring.
