Prime Video’s 6-Part Meta James Bond Series Reveals First Look At Riz Ahmed

Prime Video has released a sneak peek, featuring a clip, of Riz Ahmed in its upcoming comedy series. The show playfully jokes about the James Bond movies themselves.

Starring and created by Ahmed, the new series Bait tells the story of an actor facing a personal crisis who gets the opportunity of a lifetime. The show premieres on Prime Video on March 25th and also stars Guz Khan, Aasiya Shah, Sheeba Chaddha, and Sajid Hasan. First-look images from Bait have just been released and can be seen below.

I just saw this hilarious clip from the movie Bait! It shows the main character, Shah, with his family, and things go crazy when a rumor starts online that he might be the next James Bond. They all immediately start debating whether it’s true, how much Daniel Craig made, and then they get into a really important conversation about how Bond has always been played by white actors. It’s a really funny and thought-provoking moment!

Shah, however, assures them that it is only an audition. Check out this clip from Bait below:

Riz Ahmed first gained significant recognition acting alongside Jake Gyllenhaal in the 2014 thriller Nightcrawler. He then achieved wider fame starring in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. His performance in the 2020 film Sound of Metal earned him an Academy Award nomination. He’s also appeared in several other projects, including Relay, Hamlet, The Phoenician Scheme, Nimona, and Weathering With You.

In addition to acting in Tom Cruise’s upcoming film Digger, Riz Ahmed is a talented writer and filmmaker. He wrote the story for his movie Mogul Mowgli and directed the short film The Long Goodbye, which earned him an Oscar in 2023. His new series, Bait, is a first for Ahmed, representing a significant step in his career.

Amazon now owns the James Bond film series and is actively looking for a new actor to play 007. They’re currently planning the next installment, tentatively called Bond 26, which will be directed by Denis Villeneuve (known for Dune) and written by Steven Knight (creator of Peaky Blinders). While fans wait for the new Bond film, they might enjoy Bait as a movie that offers a look at the world surrounding the James Bond character.
