Want to find some great shows to watch on Netflix this week, January 19–23, 2026? Here are five recommendations – including both new releases and popular favorites – that are sure to keep you entertained.
As a total movie and TV buff, I’m always on the lookout for what’s worth watching. Right now, there’s a ton happening on Netflix, with shows like His & Hers getting huge buzz. But if you’re looking for my picks for the best shows to dive into – whether you want something to really settle into for a while or just a quick night of viewing – here are five that I think are definitely worth checking out this week.
The Lincoln Lawyer
A new season of the hit Netflix series The Lincoln Lawyer arrives in February, making now the perfect time to start watching! This exciting show combines legal drama and thrilling crime cases. With three seasons and 30 episodes already available, you’ll soon be able to enjoy a fourth season bringing the total to 40 episodes on February 5, 2026.
I’m completely hooked on The Lincoln Lawyer! It stars Manuel Garcia-Rulfo as Mickey Haller, a really compelling defense attorney working in Los Angeles. What starts as a story about him trying to turn things around quickly becomes a seriously gripping mystery, full of tension whether he’s in the courtroom or out on the streets. It’s based on Michael Connelly’s books, and honestly, it’s a must-watch on Netflix if you like legal dramas.
Just A Dash
Chef and actor Matty Matheson’s show, Just A Dash, is coming to Netflix this Tuesday, January 20th! All three seasons will be available to stream, including the first two which originally appeared online. You’ll be able to watch them all at once this week.
I’m a huge fan of Matty Matheson – you might know him from his time on VICELAND or, more recently, from the amazing show The Bear. And Ricky Staffieri is great too – he’s in Just A Dash and also plays a member of the Fak family alongside Matty in The Bear! Now, they’re both on this new reality show where Matty travels all over the country, cooking up incredible food. It’s seriously good stuff.
Queer Eye
The tenth and last season of the popular reality show Queer Eye will begin streaming on Wednesday, January 21st. After starting on Netflix in 2018, this highly addictive series will conclude its run this year with its final episodes filmed in Washington, D.C.
With 12 Emmy wins and a 93% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, Queer Eye is a huge success thanks to its upbeat style and the charming hosts—known as the “Fab Five”: Jonathan Van Ness, Bobby Berk, Karamo Brown, Antoni Porowski, and Tan France. Whether you’ve been watching for years or are just discovering the show, this Netflix release is a must-see.
Southland
The acclaimed police drama Southland is quickly gaining popularity on Netflix, even though it first aired on NBC back in 2009. Many consider the show, which stars Regina King, Ben McKenzie, and Shawn Hatosy, to be one of the greatest cop thrillers of all time. It was quietly added to Netflix over the weekend but has already become a hit.
As a critic, I have to say Southland is one of those shows that really gets under your skin. It follows the lives of LAPD officers, and what sets it apart is how incredibly realistic it feels – that’s a big reason why fans are so passionate about it. With a whopping 98% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes, this five-season crime drama is a true classic. If you’re looking for something gripping to binge-watch on Netflix this week, trust me, you won’t be disappointed.
Prison Break
If you’re a fan of the show Prison Break, now’s the time to rewatch it on Netflix! The popular series, which originally aired on FOX 21 years ago, is leaving the platform on January 30th. It tells the story of Michael Scofield (Wentworth Miller), a brilliant man who deliberately gets himself imprisoned to help his brother, Lincoln Burrows (Dominic Purcell), escape death row.
If you enjoy prison dramas like Oz or Mayor of Kingstown, you’ll probably love Prison Break. The first season is particularly strong – it’s gripping, and features memorable characters who either help Michael in his escape or become dangerous adversaries. Prison Break is currently available on Netflix, so be sure to watch it this week while it’s still streaming.
